If you have NOF12 you can publish in DocType Loose mode if you go to Tools>Options>Actual Site-Options>HTML Options and remove the hook before Quirks Mode.
If you have an older version of NOF you can use the SwissKnife Components to pick the DocType for your page or the complete website.
In this case (Wow Slider) it should be Loose.
Stefan (the creator of these components) said that you should remove any DocType you inserted by hand. And it would just replace the original one from NOF.
I tested it again now and it works perfectly.

Anton, I don´t know why you got 2 DocTypes..??

Here, and for anybody who might be interested, two links for installation and use of this component.

    http://www.nof-academy.de/SwissKnife.../Installation/
    http://www.nof-academy.de/SwissKnife...ype/index.html

and the download page where you can find the DocType Component as well:
    http://nof-academy.de/html/SwissKnif...ts_Fusion.html
    It works now, thanks

there was a slight hiccup in my installation, I copied and pasted the 3 folders after extraction to the root of Components

I should have left them alone in the extracted folder

    thanks again

    It's not my site, Anton.
It's one of the tutorial pages of the admin of our forum.
When she started the tutorial there was no DocType Component yet.
(In fact her problems with this Wow Slider DocType was the initial reason why Stefan started to build this DocType component.)
And she first experimented with inserting the DocType loose by hand.
Must be the reason why she has still two DocTypes in there.

She will change that very soon, it's not a good example.....

I'm glad it works for you now.

Just want to mention a method which I quite prefer when using sliders that require valid doc-types, like WOW-Slider, or the Dynamic Drive Slider or other examples as well.

I place the slider on a zero-margins page (XHTML) and include them on the page where I need them in an iFrame. I nearly always manage to have 100% valid HTML and everything works perfectly.

An example would be this slider (HTML5):

    www.lumis-webdesign.de

    Or this one (XHTML):

    www.nof-schule.de

    Best regards
    Barbara

    So what?

He is certainly not disturbed if someone else confirms his solution as being good...

    Why should he be disturbed?

I just wanted to give you a hint that this was mentioned already before in case you didn't read all of the 4 pages of posts.

Marquesteea, this is the NetObjects Fusion board. It is not the WowSlider nor Adobe board. I suggest you post your question to them.
