I don't really know to be honest, but I have a feeling that updates should be applied serially, though that's not usually the case with program updates for most applications.

The reason I say this is because I have applied patch #3 without applying any others, and a bug that was fixed earlier regarding spell-check and punctuation is still broken for me. Any word with a smart apostrophe, like don’t or any word with a leading “double quote” is highlighted as a spelling error.
    • Fixed Spell Checker flagging trailing punctuation as misspelled.
I haven't yet had time to remove patch #3 and install the earlier patch #1 to test my theory.

Being 6 October 2012 as of this writing...

It's FAR past time for NOF Central/HQ to Update NOF 12 to an Update 4.

There are the reported Java 7/1.7 problems to be "sure", and there are
other problems and faults as well still existing after the now old
    newest Update 3.

I could see any way to remove patch #3 to test my theory. Its not listed when the show updates option is check in Add/Remove Programs.

Its almost a year since patch#3 was released 11/29/2011 so, yes, it is high time that another patch or program update was released. I came across numerous minor bugs and one major one.

Updates are cumulative. So Update 3 will include changes from Update 1 and Update 2.

Bhikkhu Pesala, I do note that you are using an XP system apparantly
    running only 1GB RAM memory.

Fair warning from many an XP and now Win 7 user...1GB RAM is not
anywhere near enough RAM for "power software" such as you are running.
That includes any MS Office, NOF 12, and any other graphics or data
    intensive applications.

You WILL endure NOF crashes, OS crashes, massive speed slow-downs,
wildly excessive hard drive activity, etc. with only 1GB RAM present.

XP was and still is a very flaky, unstable system with only 1GB RAM
hosting both it and the applications.

Only recommendation is to try to raise system RAM to at least 2GB, and
    to 4GB if possible.

Just a word to the wise, but based on many years running both our now
older systems and being admin to many others when we used XP and
especially when using XP with NOF 9, 10, 11, and now NOF 12 being seen
by our users still running XP.

Regardless of your history and expectations, XP + 1GB RAM + NOF anything
+ other apps that you ARE running = a very data and work dangerous
    situation.
