Thread: [Bug] Unable to cancel upload

Default [Bug] Unable to cancel upload

Sometimes, when attempting to upload a page to my server, there is a connection problem, and the upload never starts. If I cancel, the dialogue changes, but never closes. I can save the site and otherwise continue working normally except for not being able to use the Publish options, but I cannot get rid of the dialogue, nor can I exit the program. The only way out that I have found is to terminate the fusion.exe process. The bug is repeatable — it happening again now as apparently there's a problem with my server at the moment.

Did you test the connection with the server?

This is a problem that has existed as far back as I can remember. Sometimes cancel will work... and sometimes it will not. I feel squeamish about force quitting NOF when a NOD file is open so before hitting Ctl-Alt-Del, I hit File|Close to shut down the current NOD file first. Seems to be a safer way to go.

LBA's protocol seems the safest way to combat this when it is seen. It
has been seen here, but exceedingly rarely, using in our case Win 7
64bit (8GB RAM), Intel CPU based system.

We also use AceFTP 3 to manually check servers if or when NOF 12 has any
problem uploading the FTP on its own.

Will say that when this problem happens it's been more reported by those
using NOF 11 and 12 with XP, than with Win 7.

I usually remember to save first before publishing, but File, Close would probably be safer. I launch NOF with a shortcut to my *.nod file anyway so it won't take any longer to open NOF then open the site.
