    Default embedded video (not youtube)

i need to add a video into a page. i have multiple options for format. i chose .wmv because it was reasonably small.

options for embedding are quick time, real player and windows media player.

which of those would be cross platform? if I chose WMP could someone see that video from an Apple product?

i am trying not to publish the video on youtube, if possible.

thank you in advance for any solutions you may provide.

YouTube is the only truly cross-platform choice and Flash used to be a close second until it recently fell into disfavor... but I'm curious... Is the reason you don't want to publish on YouTube because you don't want the YouTube logo in the corner or because you don't want the general public to be able to see find the video at YouTube? There's no way around the logo but you can publish to YouTube privately so that it cannot be viewed youtube.com.

The only reason was I didn't want to have to open a new youtube account for the customer.

    Thanks!

I would normally select Windows Media Player for .wmv files on the basis
that most users won't have to install third party plugins.

flash is useless nowadays, too many people using non flash devices.

Youtube is not the only answer.

    Here's a quick sample I whipped up www.flair.net.nz/notmypage.html

Built in a few minutes with easyhtml5 video.

Cross browser support, this vid will run on IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Android, ios5 - all without the need for any plug ins or extra software on the visitor's device.

This is cool. How come I didn't know about this already? Maybe we need a forum dedicated to sharing external resources that integrate easily with NoF. Steve?
