Thread: Upgraded from version 8 to 12; now all pix are gone

Default Upgraded from version 8 to 12; now all pix are gone

Used Netobjects 8 for quite a while - works fine, lasts a long time.

Finally made decision to upgrade to version 12. Install went well. Seems likes the application opens fine. But, when I open it none of my pix for the website are present from version 8. I still have version 8 installed on my computer and I know the years worth of pix are at the website as I have not done an upload from 12 yet.

Is there a utility I can run to get these image carried over from 8 to 12 so I can keep working on my webpage? Maybe there's an *ini file that didn't get copied over? Ideas / solutions?....

    Thanks,

Did you export your site from Fusion 8 as a template first, then import into 12?

This is the recommended method for moving a site to a newer version of NOF.

Open your site in NOF 8 and go through the backup process to create a "template" as outlined here:
    http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=16

This will create a .ZIP file.

Then launch NOF 12, and choose "New site from Template" and select the file created above.

Forgive me as I know what I do...or say..for better or for worse......

One other thing is to at LEAST read through various parts of the NOF 12
(or NOF 11) PDF file and a bit of the on-line Help system.

One example, is be you a new, intermediate or advanced NOF user:

NOF has always drilled into people's heads since at least the early
2000's that Template is THE only and best way to transfer NOF files and
projects, and exchange NOF work with others should we be working perhaps
as a team on an NOF project or web-site -- or even one web page.

NOT Trying to be "mean" here:

A great many problems with NOF are due to not reading, or at least not
absorbing a few key elements of how NOF works, so we don't run into too
    many problems later on.

Yes, of COURSE, as with all rather complex software, you can't halt all
the problems, yet a lot of problems can be "cut off at the pass", so to
    speak.
