Unhappy SOLVED: Fusion 12 does not start

    Hello all.

When I start Fusion 12, nothing happens... except that I see it running as a Process, using 25% processor time.

    History:
    1. Upgraded my hard disks and build system from scratch.
    2. Re-installed Win7, 64bit and some software.
    3. Re-installed Fusion 12 (upgrade from Essentials) from original download.
    4. Problem occurs.
    5. Run as administrator. No use.
    6. Uninstall and re-install as administrator and run as administrator. No use.
    7. Uninstall, remove left-overs in file system and registry. Re-install as under item 6. No use.
    8. Received new serial for Essentials (apparently it is hardware specific) from NetObjects.
    9. Uninstall Fusion 12, re-install Essentials with new serial (runs fine), re-install Fusion 12. No use.
    10. No news from support (yet).

    Anyone out there to help?

Nobody has a clue ? Or knows of a trick to identify the reason why Fusion 12 does not start and keeps using 25% processor time in the background?

Even though you have a Win7, 64 bit system NOF needs a Java 32 bit version.
I don't know if that's the reason for your problems.
But make sure you have the right Java version installed, take version 6, version 7 might be causing problems.

    @mia
    Thanks for trying to help!!!
Tried your proposed solution... without succes.
NOF Essentials keeps running happily, also with Java 7.
    Will have to keep searching.

JRE Version depends on the browsers you are using.

    See here: http://www.java.com/de/download/faq/java_win64bit.xml

So NOF seems not to have problems with the system, but with using java in 64bit Browsers?
    And sometimes with Java 1.7 in 32bit ... ???

It works if you use at least jre 7 upd. 9 ... and use in: Tools --> Options --> (Anwendung in english? ... Program?) --> Tab "Program" --> Java Runtime Environment --> use external jre version 7 .... (instead of using version brought by nof-installation) ...

and updates must be installed by rightclick and install as administrator

after this it seems to run

Tried it all: Java 6 32 bit in IE, Chrome, 64 bit, Java 7... even formatted HD, re-installed Win7 and NOF12 as one of the first apps... all in vain.
Have in the meantime found my luck elsewhere.
Bye. Thanks for trying to help!

    Default Solved

Technical Support has sent me a link to a new setup file and license key, expecting my original one to be corrupt.
That indeed solved the problem. One full month without being able to work on my site is quite frustrating. I reported their previous suggestion not working on December 22. Had to wait until January 9th for a response.
However: All is well that ends well.
