Thread: Store Location of Assets With Current Site

Default Store Location of Assets With Current Site

I am currently working on two different sites.

Site 1 Assets are stored in folder \Site 1\assets\
Site 2 Assets are stored in folder \Site 2\assets\

Mostly pictures, but not only pictures.

If I work on site 1 and add pictures the default folder will be whichever folder I last used. Likewise with Site 2, so I waste time browsing to change the folder each time.

I really don't want to mix assets from more than one site in one shared assets folder.

Each site should remember its own assets folder, or last used folder for inserting images, linking to PDF files, etc.

No software does what you mentioned. That sort of 'folder remeberence' is always left up to OS, not your software.

Sounds like an organization issue if you're picking assets from site 1 that's also good for site 2. Still, if you're using assets from site 1 and want to use them in site 2 as well, you don't have to waste time browsing, copying and pasting duplicates to the site respective assets folders. Just use the 'Copy to site's assets folder' tick box.

No. I organize my assets according to the site. When working on Site 1, I pick assets from \site1\assets\ — then when I work on site2, picking assets opens \site1\assets\ instead of \site2\assets\ which I used last time I edited site 2.

That's why the feature request is that the application should remember this information for each site. It can remember were to keep its backups, or site preview files, so why not where it keeps its assets?

BB, you're correct, but only up top a point.

THIS forum is for suggestions. Bhikkhu Pesala is making a suggestion, not a criticism that NoF Does what it Does and NOT what You want it To Do.

THIS is where WE get to tell NO WHAT we would like it to do.

    That is all.

    Hi There...

You're Right.... I noticed the Suggestion Part after I Posted....... The "Feature" Suggestion about leaving Buffers with previous data is a Little Over the Top in my Opinion....

    Have a Great Day.....
