    Default SEO Trouble Scanning Meta Tags

    I have done everything that tech support has given with no success, so here goes:

    I purchased a SEO program to help increase website rankings in Google and other search engines and found that it can not see any of our meta tags and meta descriptions on any site we have created in Fusion. However other sites scan fine that we created using WordPress and Frontpage. I have changes the settings under "Current Site Options" Site Generation from "Dynamic Page Layout" to Regular Tables and back again. I have gone in and added HTML code into the "Page Properties" by hand.

    I have even used another program to see if it was the first SEO program that was the problem. But both SEO PowerSuite and Rapid SEO Tool (free ver) have the exact same information. It appears that if you analize your site "spider it" Fusion sites can not be seen by the search engines correctly.

    If you need look at a site or two here are a few.. http://www.hightechtees.com/ & http://hillsidehomesinc.com/

    If anyone can find where I'm going wrong I would be very thankful. I wish to end this with.. I love Fusion and we have used it since Ver 2.0 and with the pool of knowledge on the forum I know there is a way to make this work.

    Both of those site are using frames, although they appear to be serving no purpose. Perhaps you were using frames once, thought you had disabled them, but left one there with nothing in it.

    As a result, your PAGE code shows no META tags, as the tags are in the FRAME.

    Here is the code, in it's entirety, for the Hill Side Homes page:

    HTML Code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"
       "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
    <html>

    <head>
      <title>www.HillsideHomesInc.com </title>

    </head>
    <frameset rows="100%,*" border="0">
      <frame src="http://fusion.dnsprotect.com/~hillside/index.html" frameborder="0" />
      <frame frameborder="0" noresize />
    </frameset>

    <!-- pageok -->
    <!-- 05 -->
    <!-- -->
    </html>
    I made a fairly rude (with tongue in cheek) post about frames here. You can get some insight and abuse there. Basically, you should turn off frames entirely. Very bad for SEO. Very bad for Search Engine indexing.

    I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish with the fusion.dnsprotect.com stuff, but I doubt that helps either.

    I have turned off the Frames as you stated but the SEO software still does not show any of the meta info.

    I don't think you have. The source code still looks as it did above. If you look at your source and you see this:

    <frameset rows="100%,*" border="0">
    <frame src="http://fusion.dnsprotect.com/~hillside/index.html" frameborder="0" />
    <frame frameborder="0" noresize />
    </frameset>

    then you have frames on your page. There are no META tags in the source for this page.

    Try running your SEO software on the following link, which is the stuff inside the frame:

    I think this fusion.dnsprotect.com is the hoster.
    And instead of a proper redirect to the domain they are using frames to display the website.
    (We had that sort of thing once in our support, very weird....)

    So the frames are not in NOF, I think.

    Mia is right. Change your host. They are not giving you your own server space but, as Mia says, are displaying your (and presumably others') web sites in frames within their own server. Either they have misconfigured the web server (in which case, they're incompetent so you should move) or they're doing it deliberately (in which case you should move).

    I have used superb.net as my host for more than 10 years and highly recommend them. There are other good hosts, though, but there are many more bad ones.

    A lot of "free hosting" options do not cost the person using them any money but it does cost them far more as their site is not an actual site but a folder off of the "free domain"

    Hi, I have NOF12. My website uses the ecommerce shopping cart that comes with NOF12. When I scan my site, I get duplicate meta tags from the parent page, how do can ensure unique meta tags with the ecommerce shopping cart that comes with NOF12? Thanks!

    You would do better to post in the NOF-12 group and initiate a new post;
    this one appears you have attempted to hijact an existing thread.
