Thread: Graphic browser background and color layout background

Default Graphic browser background and color layout background

I'm stumped. I did go through the entire 75 page forum for NOF12. Learned a lot even after using the program for years.

I've been able to make a color background for web browsers, and an image background for my page layouts. Now, how do I reverse that? I want to make a solid color (white) for my layout pages, and use a dynamic image background for the web browsers. I'm stumped on how to do it.

If I'm wanting my header in the master background to stretch dynamically across any browser, I'm guessing I create the same header background in my image, right? Or is there a way to make it stretch from the master border?

Last question: In InDesign, Photoshop, etc. you can move layers and images by "Send to Back" and "Bring to Front" choices. When I create a picture in NOF12, and then want to slide a rectangle or something behind it, I haven't figured out if there's a way to do this. Is there?

Is this what you are after?

    http://www.gotfusion.com/BG-inTable/

If so, here is the tutorial: http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=4048

IF not, can you show us a web site somewhere that does what you want to do?

For having a background fill the area you should tile it vertically and horizontally so it will fill everything

This tutorial will cover where you find the settings but the settings you change are the "Repeat" whereas the tutorial is for a single image that is centered (same place different settings)

Thanks, Mike. I'll head over to the tutorials. The site I'm working on is www.nurturehope.net. Basically I want to swap the graphic that is currently behind the layout, to the sides and under the layout, which I want to change to a white background.

As far as the floating header, www.northcentral.edu is what I'm after. The only thing different would be that I want a graphic in place of the tan sides of the main layout.

Ray posted a link to a javascript that dynamically stretches the background image to fit browser width recently. I can't find the link right now as my workstation is off, but if you search Ray's posts on the forum I'm sure you'll find it. If not, I'll post it later today.

And have you tried Dynamic Drive? I'm sure you'll find a number of scripts there.

BG Stretcher is the free one: http://www.ajaxblender.com/bgstretch...n-updated.html

Lots also available on Code Canyon for a few bucks. This one can do a stretched background slideshow.

Yeah that's the one I remember you posting before. Easier to implement than bgstretcher.
