Default How to open existing NOF 10 site in NOF 2013 - not from Template

I have a large NOF 10 site which for some reason will not export as a template. How can I open that User Site in NOF 2013?

First, try to find out why it won't export as a template. NoF usually tells you why, usually missing assets.

IF you still cannot export, you will need to copy the entire folder structure from 10 to 2013 AFTER checking the location of all assetts.

It may work, it may not. Templates are your friend.

copy it with Windows Explorer into a new folder, then open the copy in Nof2013, say no to opening copy

then, go to tools, settings, current site and change the backup path to the new one

then go to publish view, publish settings and add a new local publish profile and browse to the new local publish folder

then remove the old publish profile

    Hi Smithy,

1FugleyKiwi is correct, we would suggest locating the issue in creating a template first. Try these steps:

Save a backup copy and re-optimize your existing site:
    1. Open your site in your previous version of NetObjects Fusion.
    2. From the Tools menu, choose Save Site As.
    3. From the Tools menu, choose Re-Optimize.
    4. From the File menu, choose Save to ensure that the re-optimized site is saved.

Export your site as a Template:
    1. Switch to the Assets view to display all of the sites file assets.
    2. From the Assets menu, select Verify All File Assets.
    3. If you would like to remove unused file assets from your site, from the Assets menu select Delete All Unused File Assets. (This is recommended for optimum performance.)
    4. Switch to the Site view to show the site structure.
    5. From the File menu, choose Export as Template > Entire Site.
    6. In the dialog that appears, navigate to your Templates folder or any folder that you would like to use and save your template file.

Import your template into NetObjects Fusion 2013:
    1. Launch Fusion 2013.
    2. From the File menu, select New Site > From Template.
    3. In the dialog that appears, navigate to the folder where you saved your exported template.
    4. Click on the template that you wish to import and choose a name for your imported site.

These are general steps but please run through them and let me know where you come across a snag.

    Thanks,
    Adam
