Old problem, old solution

Place a thin text box either side of you page (or in the master borders if present)
Left hand side isn't always essential, right side alone often does the trick.

Sorry it took so long for me to post, had class finals this week. This did solve the problem. I think you are correct, it would explain why it works in compatibility mode on IE, but chrome and FF it was stuck left. The only odd thing is, once I published it and it automatically pulled up IE, it was fine and not in compatibility mode. Thanks - I had a feeling that I would have to use these tags, but frankly I don't see why NOF doesn't create it - kind of defeats the center check box.

When I look at it, the page is centered. It's just very wide.

is make sure all pages have the same layout region
before I start
