    Default 'Small ad' script ?

    HI Folks
A site is going to need a 'small ad' -type script -
actually not for things to sell but to list tourist attractions.

Needs to be simple to set up, have an 'approve/reject' moderators page,
and allow users to upload a photo/logo, headline, 100 words of text,
    email, phone & www address.

Anybody got any favourites (that also 'play nice' with NOF! <g>)

    Many thanks
    Adrian

There are lots of them. Check with your web host first to see what
languages and databases they support then look for one that you like.

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...nner+ad+script

When we needed one I "rolled my own"... It is fairly simple and you can
use MS Access if it is just for displaying a graphic and some text in
one location (that is, if your host supports MS Access as a database)

Be careful using unsecured anonymous uploads. This is the easiest and
most common way web sites get hacked. Someone uploads a hack package
then unpacks it and has ftp access to your domain so that they can
change anything and upload anything just like you can... so BEEEEE
careful. You don't want to get a phone call in the middle of the night
asking why your client's web site is full of hard core porn.....

    Yes - I know - that's why I asked <g>

    PHP would be good....
my hosting company support databases as well - but a flat-file php
    solution would be preferable...

Don;t really want to go that far - there's not the money for it .....

Yes - I can see that would be less than ideal....

I really need a fairly simple-to-use package (from the user's point of
view, and from the moderator's point of view)....

What's the right name for this sort of script - sort of a 'directory'
    script ??

The other option is for the user to put it all into a form that gets
emailed to me and I build the entries from it - but I'd rather it was
'semi-automatic' - with the manual 'moderation' to ok each entry...

Each user would only need to upload the info once (I'm assuming that
'secured, non-anonymous uploads' would involve creating accounts & so on
    ...?)

    Thanks
    Adrian
