Carousel broken files

My carousels work fine when published locally, but images show as broken when published to website.
Any help appreciated

If the site works perfectly in Local Publish the best solution, frankly, is to use an ftp program such as filezilla to upload the files to your server. If you cannot publish properly through NoF either you have incorrect parameters set in Publish View or, more likely, you have incorrectly set file/directory permissions on your server. And that's a question for you host's support.

Franko, thanks for your response. I was initially using Filezilla to ftp the published files to my website, but when that didn't work I used NOF to publish to web. Still a problem with this.
I can't see any options on my host to set any file permissions.
I have since downloaded the files back from website back to my computer & that works correctly, so still scratching my head.

Can you post a URL to the site so we can see why you are having the problem.

troubleshooting without seeing is no better than guessing. My guess is the images did not get uploaded to the folder that the code is looking for them in but without seeing where the code is looking for the images this is just a guess.

As I said before, if I ftp this site back to my computer, when I run it locally, the carousel runs OK, apart from the fact that I get warning message about the activex that I have to accept. (BTW when I run from website I don't get error message it just runs but the rotating pics just show as X)
FYI I'm new to nof & very pleased with how easy it is to generate website. I'm trying to get this set up for my son's cycle shop & the carousel would be a great way to give a quick tour around the shop

Neither of your images has file extensions, therefore the browser does not know what type of file they are. Therefore it doesn't display them:

Try saving your images with an extension (.jpg, .png or whatever) and I'll bet it works ok.

Franko, you were right. Looks like a bug in NOF to me. Either that or a special "feature" The file I added to the carousel was a .jpg with the correct ext. When it produces the auto-generated images, it doesn't give an extension to the filename. I had to find the image files in Publish view & then rename them including the .jpg & then they were OK when I published to website. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Only problem is that I feel dizzy now when watching all my images whizzing around.

I've only used the built-in carousel once but that was fine without the problem you've mentioned. Thought - do you have file extensions set to display in windows? I'm wondering if it's not displayed in windows whether or not NoF might not pick it up. I always have windows set to display file extensions.

I was looking through the forum pages to find out more about the carousel issues as I also still have an issue with it. and this thread just about seems the same prob as mine, except I cannot seem to change any file ext naming, I also have ensured the ext is visible in explorer as you mentioned above. everything seems correct when local publish but after uploading via ftp (Filezilla) it shows the way you can see on the www site http://www.siam-living.com/html/gf0027.html here is the link to the site that has been published, hoping you can help me with this, as I can see the carousel does work for others, hoping i can also have it working.

Hi all, may I add in just one related question? My caroussels work fine on http://www.daviddefotograaf.nl/Expos...xposities.html On this particular page I have 2 carousels built in in a MultiLayoutregion. However, never more than 2! As soon as I add a third tab it doesn't run anymore. Why? but on the other hand, I have uploaded everything with NOF itself. No problems there at all with the many caoussels on this site and another.
