Default Reoptimisation - insufficient Disk Space

    Hi can anyone help please.

My website has slowed down so I have tried to reoptimise. However when I do it goes through the complete process and at the end comes up with the message
"There is not enough disk space to perform this operation Free up space on your hard drive and try again"
I have 134GB of disk space spare, which should be enough.

Does anyone have any ideas please?
    Thanks
    Nick

    Nick...

It's almost 100% fact that your hard drive and/or the partition you use
on it is full...even if you are not aware of it.

Usually, you will find a "tremendous" number of .TMP, .BAK, .PART and
other "junk" files on the drive, in addition to many image files that
you never intended to archive on the hard drive.

You need to carefully see what of the above you have on the drive, and
carefully delete them, then strongly suggest defragment the drive, using
a better software than what Windows comes with.

Chances are, you will wind up with perhaps 50% to 80% more open and
available drive space, and you won't see the ""There is not enough disk
space..." message until the drive fills up again with the mostly "junk"
    files as outlined above.

So how much fee space do you have on your hard drive? How much was freed up by doing what Joe recommended?

I now have 179GB, which I would have thought should be more than enough. After the message has appeared my site gets cleared and I just have only 1 page left - even though all the file details are still within the User Site. I therefore have to delete the site and reload the template - a bit of a pain

Have you verified assets? If not, do so and then go through Assets view and delete any assets that have a 0kb size (don't know why they may be there but I've had issues with this in the past). Also, are you using Skype and if so, do you have the auto dial from web page thingy plugin in Internet Explorer? Again, this has caused stability issues in the past.

After verifying all assets and deleting unused assets, try to reopt again. Unfortunately it's a process of elimination and if this doesn't work we'll have to think about something else, like, do you have large tables on any of the pages (large tables also cause stability issues as well as slowing down the web site). If you do, consider how else you might structure the data to get rid of them (eg, several smaller tables, Tab Top MLRs, etc).

From earlier versions I know that this message appeared when you have no administrator rights.

Many thanks - will give this a try. I suspect it is the tables I have in the pages - see example below

I am wondering if I shoudl try and split the working folder in half and whether that would make a difference, as there are 350 pages in total.
