Changing Location Of Files on PC
Hi,
I've got a project that looks good. But I've changed the location of the
files (from my E drive to C Drive) and seem to have messed up all the images
that I've put in photo galleries! This even happens if I open the project
from the E drive and then Save Site to the C drive.
Any advice please?
Thanks
Mike

Re: Changing Location Of Files on PC

Before you make any changes in storage location of files on your computer
you must export your Fusion site project to template. This will collect all
assets into the template zip file so that you can then re-create the site
project from that single file.
since you have broken the database reference to the storage location by
moving files outside of the Fusion database you will need to re-associate
all missing assets from asset view.

Once you have done this, export your site project to template on a regular
basis and store the template in a SAFE location (like on CD or uploaded to
your web server.... NOT on the same hard drive where the original project
is stored. A crashed hard drive that contains the originals and backups is
NOT a safe location)

NetObjects Fusion is a database program and when you make changes to
locations OUTSIDE of the database program it will still look for where it
knows the files should be located as it placed them or linked to them from
that location.

Re: Changing Location Of Files on PC
Thanks for the quick reply. That has sorted it (I still had the site
available on e: to export to).
