    Default About Me (previously JJ)

Just so you know, I have been on this forum for ages under the guise of JJ
(seemed like a good idea at the time ) and have worked with NOF for a good
    10 years or more now.

I have now setup business properly and you can now know who I actually am.

And just because people can't say it often enough, thank for the past help
and words from others, especially Chuck Joslin & Nancy O.

Hope you don't mind this mail.

Congrats on making the jump, Andy. Great web site too. It might be a
little light on descriptive copy for SEO ranking but I do love the flash
slideshow. Are you guys up for doing flash developing for another web
    company (in Queensland)?

In return I can help in areas like copywriting, SEO and
editing/proofreading if you need such services.

    cheers

Thanks, Andy. Considering the number of flash web sites around, the
number of people I find who can actually do it well, at a reasonable
cost, and understand how to embed it so it doesn't compromise SEO is
    very small.

That's great. Of course it depends on which keywords/phrases are
important to get good organic listings. Like me, you offer a wide range
of services and it's almost impossible to list well in all of them.

    cheers

Exactly! SEO is such a big subject. Trying to get to the top of Google
rankings for "website design" or "ecommerce" and staying there....good luck

I have specific things I chase and I get enquiries from all over the world.
I have done quite a few jobs now for people overseas simply from online
presence in lots of areas, and more often than not by giving free advice at
    first, not just SEO ranking.

As with the way you did old-fashioned business, there are lots of ways of
building your business and SEO is just one of them.

I think a lot of people place a little *too* much emphasis on it, some with
too much of a vested interest of course and making a lot of money because
people simply just don't know any better. Some of the money clients /
potential client have spoken to me about in regard to that are ridiculous
and do not give them greater return when all is said and done because of the
type of business they are in.

It's all just a balance of what you are trying to achieve and who you are.
The same rules do not apply to all businesses but some would have you
    believe that that is true.

Couldn't agree more! The real key to a successful web site is useful,
    informative, well-written and relevant information.

    Anyway, good luck mate.

    cheers from Noosa
