    Default MLR Overload?

So here I sit with an Accordion MLR with 15 Regions. Each region has a
simple table in it: 2 columns with anywhere from 6 to 16 rows in each with
    only text data.

As I've built this MLR, I have been having problmes with NOF hanging when I
try to name each layout region. I select the MLR, highlight the specific
region in the MLR Properties box and double-click. The "Edit" window pops up
with the existing name for the region, but I cannot change the name, I
cannot accept or cancel, I cannot do anything except the 3-finger salute and
call up the Task Manager to force NOF to close. When it works, the Edit box
comes up with the name highlighted, but when it doesn't, the name is NOT
    highlighted.

Task Manager thinks NOF is Running just fine. It is just the Edit box has
hung somewhere between opening and allowing the name edit. I can move the
little edit window around. If I hover over the [X] in the top right corner,
it highlights RED, but clicking does nothing.

I have been playing a little "cat-n-mouse" game, trying to sneak up on this
edit window by pretending to do something else, then double-clicking the
region name to edit it, then CTRL-ALT-DEL, force-quit and try again.

Or I try the "feeding the chipmunk" approach, click.... wait... count to
3... click-select... wait... count to 3...click- deselect... wait... click-
select again... wait... double-click to edit.... then CTRL-ALT-DEL, force
    quit and try again.

Easily for an hour and a dozen or more tries, trying to rename this MLR
    region.

I have optimized the site, I have exported a template with just this page
and a couple of other virtually blank pages, then opened a new site with
just these pages, and still the same stuff.

Am I expecting too much of this poor li'l MLR?

Are there any other tricks I can try to fool NOF to do what it's supposed
    to?

Any words of wisdom? Encouragement? Sympathy? Commisseration?

    Ray,

Yeah, I've experinced all of the above (in this case below). That's why I
eventually gave up on the MLR component altogether. Wish I had an answer
for your but wanted to let you know you're not alone on this one.

Just got a mailing from Likno today. Seems they are about to release a MLR
like component using jQuery. If it's as well done as their other
components it might be a very good alternative to the MLR.

    Thanks, Chuck.

I managed to get things working 9 times out of 10. I have the MLR inside a
Layout Region with a background image. I removed tha background image, and
it only crashes 1 time in 10 rather than the other way around. I guess that
background image was the last straw.

I'll get all the data stuff done first, then "pretty it up" later.

This is a job I've done for the past few years, and it always seems a
challenge for NOF. I need to link to about 60 or so PDF files, and one of
the site pages is a large index, which ends up being a table with close to
200 rows. At the end I always feel like the guy in the movie carrying the
nitro-glycerin: one false step and it all goes BOOM. ;-) The slightest
change to the table will cause NOF to hang.

I can't use any "server-side" type scripting because the whole thing gets
    published to a CD.

Sometimes I do it in pieces, with the jumbo pages in a separate .NOD file,
and combine them all at the very end.

At least I'm moving forward now.

P.S. The Likno thing looks interesting. I'd be curious what they plan to
price it at. I've been looking at a few open source and commercial scripts
that do that sort of thing for a possible project coming up. I hope they
don't end up charging twice for the tabs and the accordion, as they are
basically the same thing. I must say, their demos had a couple of truly
    clever applications for their tools.

The Likno Web Tabs program is scheduled for release by the end of March.

As with AllWebMenus, Modal Windows Builder and Tooltips Builder from Likno,
we'll have a tutorial for their Web Tabs Builder on BeyondFusion and provide
    support to Fusion users.

The Fusion MLR is handicapped by not being updated to use recent versions of
    jQuery.

Likno updates it's jQuery GUI products with new builds of jQuery (at 1.4.1
    right now).
