    Default OT: SEO Help

Can anyone give me a feel for how I would go about determining exactly where
my site ranks on a specific Keyword or specific Keyword Phrase in Google,
    Yahoo, etc.

ie: I use the phrase "metal stamping" on one of my sites. I'd like to
know the physical number of sites that rank above my site on this
particular keyword phrase..... or determine my site ranks on the xx search
results page on Google, etc. I think what I'm asking for is different
than Google Page Rank number ??

    Thx,
    tOC

Opps - too quick on the send key.

    This may be of interest:

And yes, pagerank is entirely different (and apparently much less
    important that it once was)

Not sure exactly what you mean by "rank" but Google Analytics is a free
marketing type tool and it will tell you which and how often your keywords
are being hit/used by date, week, month, year, etc.. Does an excellent job
    of it and lots more.

Rank is the position returned by a key word search.

The google webmasters tools will give you all search words and what number
the site is listed at for each word search.

You will need to set up an account and enter your domains to see the
    results.

This is different from the analytics as it is NOT stats it is search words,
page ranking for those words, click through and a lot of other useful info.

I'll stick a screen shot of gotFusion onto this post so you can see some of
the keywords used to find us and what rank our site gets on the google
    results page for those keywords

Thanks for the screenshot; I spent some time looking around at the tools and
was pleasantly surprised at their offerings. I think some of that capability
might be pretty useful! Actually it was already useful on a couple of
points: My robots.txt seems to be AWOL for one thing! Not a huge deal but
it's crawling a lot of unnecessary pages like stacked photos, etc..

    Regards,

I don't think thats possible without some sort of google api, you could
use google webmaster to see how your visitors are coming to your site.
And if they you site showed up in the top 100 for metal stamping it
    would tell you the position,
