    Default flash animated text

    Hi,

When I try to add a back ground image, using the CSS - property sheet
background-image field, to a flash animated text field I created the
image flashes when the page opens but then is gone. Has anyone been able
to get this to work or change the back ground of a flash animated text
    field to transparent?

    Thank you

    Mark

    Yes you can.

Attached is a screen shot of the Flash Properties and the place where you
    choose Transparent.

It does of course depend somewhat on how you've created your flash file, but
if you've created Flash text with a background that can be transparent, this
    is how you do it.

If you haven't look at Z-Index of your Flash file.

I have just looked at your website and I realise it's not finished yet, but
can I respectfully suggest you reduce the file size of your pictures as the
    site is slow to load.

For instance, the logo is a 123Kb jpg and actually 500 x 270 even though you
are only displaying it at 324x175 and can easily be made into a GIF file
which is more appropriate for logos and sized to 324x175.

I have been nice and attached the logo to this message for you to show the
    difference.

I would also suggest you do the slideshow you have on the home page as a
flash slideshow with XML and have the images separate so that the entire
thing doesn't have to load before showing the photos.

    Good luck with it all.

You slideshow is done with Javascript and is loading pictures separately, so
no need to create a flash slideshow as I said before, but definitely reduce
    the file sizes down drastically.

    Andrew,

I didn't create the flash file I used the NOF Animated Text flash
component; any idea if this can be modified to use a transparent
background? I have a new back ground image for my banner that I would
like to have the animated text on.

    Thanks again

Just set the opacity to 99 in the component properties.

Just another reminder too....reduce the size of your JPG's. The photo at
the top between "A Mountain of Services" and "Under One Roof"! is nearly
    4.5Mb!

So when you resize and image with NOF it doesn't actually resize the image?

Thanks again, I've made the changes - I really appreciate the feedback
    and help!

    Take care

Generally regarded as a smart move to prepare your graphics outside of
NOF. NOF doesn't try to be a graphics editor (thankfully). The HTML IMG
tag allows for an image to be resized on the fly by the browser, but the
source file stays the same size...

If you don't have graphics software that can resize images, try an online
version, there are several but http://www.imageoptimizer.net works well, or
if you want a full graphics manipulation program that's very much like
Photoshop but free try GIMP www.gimp.org
