Time out issue with Buy Button service
My website uses a shopping cart service through buy button coding. Customers
have been calling telling me that they are receiving a time out error
message after clicking the cart button. I called the shopping cart company
and they can't help me that it is my server host. I call my host and they
tell me it is my shopping cart server.
Is there something that I might be able to change in NOF 11 to work this
out?

Re: Time out issue with Buy Button service
Debi, you haven't really described what's not working. I looked at the
site but since I don't actually need any Pre-toasted Organic Sushi Nori
at the moment, I didn't follow through with the actual purchase. But
your Buy Now links do connect with the shopping cart, so where does the
time-out occur? In your testing of the site, what are you clicking and
what error messages are you receiving?

Re: Time out issue with Buy Button service
Shara,
I've seen this before with one of my clients, in my case they are using
GoDaddy as their host. When you click a link there may be 10, 20 or 30
server hops to access the intended server. If that's not bad enough, one
or more of the servers may be timing out, thus you never reach the final
destination. In addition, you and I may have different paths to the
final server ... meaning I may be timed out and you don't see any
problem. Someone having the difficulty should trace the path. That
should identify which server is hanging things up.

Re: Time out issue with Buy Button service
Hi,
I am over the other side of the pond and I agree there is something wrong
with the host.
Not sure who cartpc.com are but the server seems to be in and out and traces
are bad very slow often not here at all. It has more hops than a easter
bunny so I am not surprised!!
Not sure but my guess its your cart host.
