Default Interactive database on NOB 13

Hi, I am trying to link a database to my website that will allow users to search a database relevant to the site and obtain a range of answers. This will (if I can get it working) to save some 300 pages from my site. I have read the manual and it hasn't helped. Im not so technically literate to be able to work this out.

    Any starting clues?

    Jim

What is the URL of your web site?

Depending on the content, it could possibly be done with the tools in Fusion or may best be accomplished in Fusion with custom programming with a dynamic language like PHP and a database backend like MySQL.

Given the above Jim you may only want to use NOF to, as you said, just "link" - but to a third party searchable database.

You can start off free with these guys https://www.zoho.com/creator/build-o...FUtgMgodc3MAnw
( I use them for invoicing and CRM, a good outfit. )

Or see what you like in this search

The url is http://www.ayr-united.co.uk/ I have heard of those. The idea would be to have people search for a season in history e.g 1960/61 and get all of the results for that season or for an opposition club rather than have a separate page for each of these. I have heard of PHP and MySQL and read about them, but don't know know how I would put this into NOB.

    Thanks

    Jim

Caspio looks promising, I will have a go at that, thanks.

Caspio has a free 14 day trial. After that it's anywhere from $79/mo to $999/mo depending on how many "data pages" you have.

    Five to 400 "data pages".

PHP and MySQL are free and available on most hosting accounts. It just takes time and/or money (and programming skills - that you learn yourself or hire) to develop what you need.

Hey guys, thanks. Caspio worked a treat. Ive already set it up and tested it successfully on a dummy page.

Yes, but does it help to pay $79/month or more?
John - I am born to tease, not to please.
For NOF beginners: read everything here and practice on mock web sites first.
Before asking a question, search to see if it has not been asked and answered already.

Time is money. Hopefully redcuillin will sell and charge this off to the client. Figure as best you can the amount time it would take to learn, build, customize and maintain, then multiply that by how much you charge per hour. If you're losing money, then paying for a qualified service can be cheaper. http://www.zenginehq.com/pricing seems to have friendlier pricing but you'll decide how their model works in comparison to caspio.

If your project is pro bono then you may want to spend more time to save money.
If your project has some sort of compensation, then you may want to spend more money, thus purchasing time.
In the end your client always decides, dependent on what's being delivered.
