NOF version 2015!

I really don't want to have to go the Wordpress route.

I just can't be as creative in WP. Makes me sad. But you know what I've been doing lately? I am designing the front page with NOF, and the rest of the site in WP. Makes clients happy they have a groovy home page, and WP to maintain the rest of the site... and responsive, even if home page isn't, that's not the meat of the site.

Hi Kitty! I did upgrade to v. 13 and liked it but only use it once in awhile. I've gone with MACAW for responsive web design. I love your new site with wordpress, but I'm having difficulty making a simple project of changing some of the code... I'm still not ''getting it'' -- I do like the way version 2015 is going, embracing html 5 and all, but until its a one program responsive design web author client, I don't think I'll be upgrading from v. 13 to v. 15

Well, as I mentioned somewhere before, I will definitely upgrade to v.2015 sooner or later because I am still hopeful for great changes, and, well, just because.

Hi Kitty,

Did you try to use the Google translator on NOF-Schule? I know it's not ideal.. If you have any particular question for us you can write in our English section.

I think the responsive issue will not be solved by NOF in the short term. This will definitely be needed in the future.

For now we have to make compromises. If i need a big databased website i use WordPress. I use responsive templates and adapt them to my needs. My compromise there: i can't implement my own design 100%. I have to adapt my ideas to the template.

For a small homepage that has to be more like artwork I can use NOF, with NOF everyone can implement their own design and ideas without understanding anything about coding.

By the way, of you use large objects and fonts (like 16 px for <p>the homepage will look good both on large screens and mobile devices.

Well I pulled the trigger and bought the 2015 version.

That is one of the big things I like about the Fusion product. The GUI has NOT changed. Additions and enhancements to the GUI but the basic design, layout, and function (the major views of site, page, style, asset, and publish) have stayed the same from from the original Version 1 product and it is still what you look at when you work with the latest release of the program.

It is an easy transition from any previous version to the latest version as you already know how it works, you just need to find all of the improvements and enhancements then use them but you can jump in with no slow down as it looks, walks, and quacks the same as it always has.

I have been a user of the product since version 1 was on the market and I will continue with it.

I guess I keep buying, look around, and either like it or not. Now I have it. I used to upgrade Dreamweaver/Flash each time a new version was released, thinking that maybe someday I would use it. Well, good thing I didn't spend a lot of time on it now that Flash is pretty much no more, right? I also upgrade because I don't want to miss anything... but it doesn't particularly seem as though I'm am.

I think the hype & marketing about each new version gets me all excited and hopeful that maybe this will be The One, only to be disappointed. In fairness to NOF, I probably don't take advantage of many features of NOF. Don't use their forms, photo galleries, templates, rollover buttons... not a heck of a lot. So there may be things in there that work well, I just haven't used them. I still mourn the loss of Coolmaps and use their components (the rollovers) always, - although it appears that the nav is a little wonky on a client site, but that's another story.

One of my greatest disappointments was when N-Power came out. I thought YAY! Now my clients will be able to maintain their own sites. Mmmm, not. Which is also why I'm been primarily using WordPress. For the responsiveness and client can update, although they usually have big ideas but rarely update and ask me to anyway.

ANYway - hubby is my CFO... so yes, he knows. I usually get what I need.

1). I use very, very few of NOF features.
I am into the financial field and built and maintain my own web sites. The audience I beam my wisdom to is a different kind so I do not have to pamper my visitors with flashes, heavy graphics, marquees, etc.

2). Yes, I had N-Power myself but NEVER used it. I was glad in the beginning that my customers at that time (I was a fulltime web master) would be able to make their own updates, but then, on second thoughts, I realized it's not good for customers to see how easy the work is.
How can you charge customers a lot when they know NOF secrets themselves?

Yup, I'm here for my clients. If I don't do what they would like, I wouldn't be doing my job. At the same time, it's also my job to guide them in the right direction, and 9 times out of 10, I can convince them which way would be the best way.

All of a sudden I forgot what I was going to say. ugh. My mind is done with this stuff for the night. Game #2 is on.
