I haven't upgraded. Just bought new and installed without errors.
    Exactly the same problems.
Tried running as Administrator, same result.
    Windows 7 64bit.
Seems to me to be a fundamental problem which needs resolving soon if confidence in product is required.
I will try reinstalling (as Administrator) and see what happens.

I've been around the same cycle, with same result.
I even ran the installation as Administrator.
I did notice that 5 minutes after the installation completed, task manager showed that Setup was still running ( I was looking for fusion15.exe).
So the problem could well be in the setup package.

Not that this is what happened, but.... it's very important to not close the setup window yourself. It (and its icon in the launch bar) lingers a little bit after you may think installation is complete.

If you close it yourself or try to open Fusion before it goes away on its own, what you're describing will be the result.

you can install the upgrade on any PC without previous version, all you need is the previous version serial during the installation

Okay.... did the whole uninstall-reinstall thing. I waited and clicked the finish button, then brought up program manager. The install program as you said, stayed on for 30 seconds or so. After it went away I started 2015 as administrator and got the same result. I guess we'll rule that out

    It shouldn't take 30 seconds.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled and after clicking on Finish, the installation icon on my launch bar went away in less than 10 seconds as usual.

Opened the program, no fuss. And I never have to run as administrator.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled on both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 64bit computers a gazillion times and never had any issues.

It has to be something about your machine's configuration.

    is windows defender enabled?

which antivirus program do you have installed? some still work even while disabled

any malware software installed or third party firewall?

the problem is definitely not Nof

Well... I gave up installing on that computer, It was a laptop that I used at work and home. I installed it on my desktop at my office with no problems. I've had this issue before with one piece of software for scenery building in a flight simulation product.

To answer some of the questions,

    1. The time may have been less, I wasn't timing it?

    2. I use bitdefender Virus/Malware software, but I have it on both computers with the same settings so we could probably rule that out.

    3. Windows defender is not installed

    4. I'll check the Java installs, not sure about that.

    Thanks for the help everyone
    Bill

Windows Defender is installed, it can't be uninstalled

you can only disable it in services, this is what I do, I stop the service and then set it to disabled, that way it will never run

    HI all

been a few months since I visited this site
was drawn in by an add for NOF15
this is a VERY interesting thread
as I had the exact SAME (sort of problem on NOF 13)
    except
the install was fine / on desktop AND laptop
worked ok for a few months, then STOPPED working on both
program SAID working - but screen showed Nada
desktop was vista home pro and laptop 8.1
neither had any new installs of other programs
I uninstalled both and re-installed both
still - neither worked (even updated both JAVA as was advised)
was forced to go buy Brand X web author program
    ARGH - after 20 years (yes - 20 years ?? +/- ) what a pain
so I reloaded nof 12 - that worked
    anyway
after few months of anguish - tried NOF13 again on laptop
and NOW IT WORKS - huh???
    (have not tried on Desktop)
    summary
no real data here - but MAYBE this info might give some clue to the Developers

    cheers
