in the properties-tab (text properties, picture properties, etc.) there are several grayed out fields (most notably, positioning X/Y).
How can I edit those fields?

I was referring to the properties inspector, where some field are editable, but others are not (see picture).
On several occasions now, I've been wanting to manually edit some of them, but could not do it.
Now, it stands to reason that there would be a way to edit those fields (otherwise, why would they be there in the first place?). So I would like to learn how to do just that.

I have NOF2015, I just customized the appearance of the program interface.
So, in short, there is no way to edit the grayed out fields conveniently, is it that?

The position is given according to the coordinates at the bottom right hand side of page view.
If you want to insert a class (which is grayed out in your screenshot), you don't need to use the CSS property panel. You use the text properties palette and select your CSS-class in the styles drop down menu.
