    Default Flash Photo Gallery component

Does anyone know how to get rid of the navigation icons? Thumbnail Gallery,
Title and Comment section is easily editable, but sometimes when you only
have say 8 pics, and want to use the flash gallery component, you don't need
    the navigation icons.

I can't delete them and setting the arrangement order doesn't hide them
under the pics, which I could live with.
Check this page of my site and you'll see what I mean.
I only have 8 pics...ther are no more...so why advance to a second page?

    Jimmy E,

I see ten thumbnails on your page. The arrow is there because you evidently
have more than 10 images included in your gallery design. Delete the ones
you don't intend to use and make the gallery large enough onscreen to show
all of the thumbnails you want to have.

The navigation arrow is to go to a second page where the additional
    thumbnails should be.

If you don't want the arrow(s), all thumbnails have to be able to appear at
    once.

For example: www.theedgetiedye.com/html/thecorkboard.php with 14 images and
no navigation arrows because they aren't needed.

    Hi Chuck,

A question for you on the flash gallery component...

I notice that a click on a new image dissolves and replaces (that part is
fine), but what is this white flash that covers the image after the new one
is in place and before it stabilizes?

I've seen this on several of the NOF flash photo galleries I've looked at
and personally I find it to be extremely distracting and annoying. After
looking at it on two or three images - it makes me want to abandon the
    site.

Is that a behavior that can be disabled or is it just the way the thing
    operates?

I don't see that in any other flash galleries (by other vendors) and
figured you might know the answer.

    Thanks!

    Charles

Yes, but you still have the "menu" with the page's title + "#1"...
Seems to be no possibility to "delete"

    Charles,

The "flash" is one of the effects. Flash photography. Like you're taking a picture with a flashbulb.

You're right though.. if you aren't expecting it, it can be a distraction.

It's just one of many transition options in the component.

    Hi Chuck
Yes I do have 10 images on that page ... but there are only 10 in the
    gallery and no more.
I just plucked the number 8 out of the air in error as an example not
figuring that I had indeed 10 on the page I cited.
But the problem remains the same. There are no more images and no need for a
2nd page..I would also like to get shot of the menu item.
I can see on your flash gallery page that you have no navigation arrows!
I'll experiment with different layouts to try and get to the bottom of it.
I think you should be able to delete these items if you don't want them.
    Thanks for your input .

Thanks for the clarification Chuck - I appreciate it.

I figured that it had to be a effect (although not a personal favorite<g>),
but wanted to be sure it wasn't something in my own video subsystem, Flash
    version, etc.

    Take care,

    Charles
