pictures flash gallery
If you modify the settings of a pictures flash gallery
(number of thumbnails or thuuimbnails size, or position of the "next &
previous")...
something that modify the "swf"...
Local publish is OK
Upload on the web
NO modification appears:
The only way is TO CLEAN the CACHE of the computer...
First time I see that with a "flash" module..

Re: pictures flash gallery
are you using Firefox2? if so, set the cache to 0kb otherwise you will never
see fresh content

Re: pictures flash gallery
I've worked with FLASH files for quite some time (using SWISHmax and
FlashMX) and I've always had to either clear the cache or restart the
browser to bring in changes to the .swf. As far as I know this is nothing
unique to NOF.

Re: pictures flash gallery
I have the same problem. Yes I'm using firefox. Have cleared cache and set
it to zero.
After modifying Flash slideshow component.
Local publish fine
No modification visible on publish to site.

Re: pictures flash gallery
Bonjour
For Anton:
using FireFox V2 (Fr)
But how can I "oblige" the visitor's cache to be clean...
And the first time I do this type of modification, I passed 30' on a
complete "reupload" of the site!
Seeking WHERE or WHAT was the file missing.
Gone a try with IE to check..
For Dave:
I just make a try changing my "intro swf" (Flash one)
just a refresh in (FFox) (if the page is open before the change upload)
and the new swf appears if you open a second session.

Re: pictures flash gallery
Hello,
How are you uploading your files?
I have had occurrences where, if my server clock was not the exact time as
my computer clock , that when I did a file upload that it did not update
every new file. It does not give a warning to this.
My ftp client is wsftp-pro and I notice that a lot.
How I solve this: If there is one file that does not seem to be updating and
if the cache is empty and it still does not work. Then I login to the with
wsftp or any other ftp client and delete the offending file on the server
and then do the upload of the new file again. Or to make sure that the cache
is clear after you delete it, do a refresh on the browser and the file will
show as not there.
Then upload the offending file and I bet it will work.
This is an ftp software and server issue not a NOF issue.
Let me know how you make out on this.

Re: pictures flash gallery
Hi
I use the ftp function within Netobjects Fusion 10 to upload.
There is no problem with updating my site or uploading any other file, flash
or otherwise.
I updated some flash files last night no problem.
But I have edited the Netobjects flash photo gallery as detailed in a
previous message.
As I said it works great and will publish locally and in preview.
I have now tried uploading to the web 5 or 6 times. No change.
This is on different pcs at different places. It's not a cache problem.
I'll try again tomorrow checking all settings.
Cheers

Re: pictures flash gallery

could you try a dedicated ftp software and report if the problem continues,
if not, then there is a problem with the Nof ftp

Re: pictures flash gallery
