Default Google Search Switching to Mobile First Index from Desktop Index..Coming Soon..!!

    Wow..

So this is a gigantic change..

A lot of questions here about mobile... Now it gets serious if it wasn't before..

The dates haven't been announced yet and this probably won't happen for a year
or so but that really isn't a lot of time if your working on more than a couple sites..

You should check your webmaster > tools dashboard > Search traffic > Search analytics

This will show you deck top visitors, mobile visitors, and tablet visitors.

I would like to see what others find out

    BUT.........

gotFusion web site ranges as follows for the reporting period

    Desk top visitors 512
    Mobile visitors 23
    Tablet visitors 10
NetObjects Fusion Cloud Linux enabled Web Hosting, support + training starts at $14.95
NetObjects Fusion web Hosting and support + ASP + PHP + ColdFusion + MySQL + MS SQL
FREE NetObjects Fusion Support & training comes with all web hosting accounts

I suppose it all depends on the content you are serving.

Someone searching for the best taco within a 2 block radius of where they are standing will not be shown the gotFusion web site.

    wow, Mike, that's unusual...

    me:

    Desk top visitors 302
    Mobile visitors 233
    Tablet visitors 62

but these numbers are already affected by downgrading because of "no mobile" reasons.

    same period one year ago:

    Desk top visitors 319
    Mobile visitors 136
    Tablet visitors 85

    Peter..

Your numbers are closer to mine and have been that way a while..

As was being said, variables exist, but in general I believe it's closer to 50-50 than ever before..

Google has the ability to "sniff" you out.

They "should" serve mobile to mobile visitors and serve desktop to desktop visitors

If they don't, someone else will and Google will go the route of Alta Vista (remember them... I hardly do)

all my Nof sites have lost google ranking on Desktop platforms because they are not mobile friendly

all my Wordpress sites (converted from Nof to Wordpress by someone else) have gained google ranking
