Thread: Missing photo

    Default Missing photo

New newbie and new to NOF15. I have a page that shows 8 photo's, everything appears when viewed in Local publish but when viewed on the server one photo is missing; all that appears for the missing photo is the outline of the photo the photo name and a small black square with a white cross in it.

All of the photo's, including the missing photo, have the address pointing to the same folder: all of the photo's are in the same place on the server. Would appreciate any advice on how to rectify the problem.

    Thanks in advance.

if the image is on the server in the correct location, than it is simply a caching issue

empty your temp internet files, clear cache and restart browser

a force refresh may also do the trick (Ctrl+F5)

The image is in the correct location on the server (as far as I can see) I've emptied the cache but no change. The only thing I can see that's changed is a file .HTACCESS has appeared immediately in front of the image, could this be affecting it?

Very interesting because the image has always been on the server and still is. What I've found is interesting, check these two links:

    http://www.murrumbapistolclub.org/50metre.jpg

The latter is the image that is on the server. Somewhere along the line something got screwed up, I guess the easiest way to correct it is to delete the image and browse for it again (well I hope it's the way to go).

    Thanks for your assistance

upper case and lower case matters when linking

your site links to lower case but the file on the server is upper case 50Metre.jpg

you can rename the file on the server to lower case and it will work

Note: avoid upper case in file names
