Default Any way to update directory for images/asstes backup?

    Hi all,

I have a feeling about this question but of course I'm asking!
As I mentioned awhile back, HD died, restored, now folders are in different locations as much as I tried to duplicate paths. SOOO, needless to say, assets from a copy of older site are not present (now in v.15). Is there a way to replace some of the assets by "hand" and then do something like a 'search & replace' so that ALL of the images used that were in missing directory magically know where all of the images now exist?
    Does that make sense?
So ya, will probably have to just go over all of the missing images and replace each one manually, huh?

    Doesn't hurt to ask, right?
    Thanks guys!

I assume all the assets were resident in the Assets directory of the web site. So it's simply a case of preparing the images again and saving them in the Assets folder of the new site. If you used nav bar, banner, etc from one of the standard styles you can replace these in the Styles view of the site.

Thanks Frank... it's a mess. Doesn't matter what & how. Kind of like a jigsaw puzzle!
Yes, what you said, I got it. Just don't have a couple of the most recent updated pages - what the heck?!

    Anyway, thanks for responding Frank.

The "easiest" way is via the assets view verify/re-link process

Once you have it all back together, export as a template, which will put a copy of all assets into the Fusion folder for them.

Then you can start a new project with the template and all assets will be in the Fusion location instead of all over the place.

Default Need Advice!! html update to only couple of pages

    Ok, here's the deal.
The site I'm talking about is originally created in v.11. Next, I imported it into v.12. Next, v.15 - so far so good. Then dead HD (we already discussed that )
All files on my dead but recovered HD now on my new HD. All good.

    Now the situation...
I DID open the site in v.15 and ALL of the assets are there! Yipppeeee! BUT... the 3 pages that I last updated are not in there, only the older versions of those 3 pages! The newer pages are in v.12. ACK!

So. My question is. In version 15 where ALL assets etc are working - other than those 3 pages - HOW can I import those 3 (newer, updated) pages into good site in v.15. There is a backup NOD file in v.12 of those 3 new pages, but how do I bring them into site to replace older 3 pages?

Geesh, I sure hope that makes sense!! I'd much rather restore this site (it's all good on the web btw - other than looking older) as opposed to try and redo in WP (yes, I said "Wordpress" - we won't discuss that right now )

Ok, where's my Guru Guys? I neeeeed you!!

I give it a try but I hope I understood it all right

have you got running versions of release 12 and 15? IF so, you can

    1) open the backup file of NOF 12 in NOF 12 using the regular method.

    2) export the 3 pages as templates (only the single pages each)

    3) insert those templates in the NOF 15-project. take care of the master border procedure ("use existing master border" etc.)

but I fear it sounds too easy... so what did I miss of your problems...?

Well, I couldn't export as template because assets are not there.

I think I will simply redo the older pages that are in the good site. I probably could have had it done with all of the time I spent trying to put this puzzle back together! BUT, I still need answers about importing single pages to an existing site.
    Thanks for trying Peter!

I think you've got the right answer in redoing the pages if there's only 3. Once the site is good again, make sure you export a template ecery time you make major changes and copy the exported site to an external drive. Flash drives are reall cheap and are big enough these days to take a complete site template eithout any problems. Also establish (if you haven't already) a standard methodology, eg all assets go into the Assets folder, etc. That way you'll never be left with unlinked images in the case of another drive mishap.
