    Default SEO question

I know that www.seo.com will help rank a page higher in a search. But does
anyone know whether the search spider , in a search, would pick up the seo
in www.seo.mysite.com and rank it higher?

Secondly, how do you get the sub-name (or whatever it's called) in NOF 11?
And is it worth doing, or maybe I should ask, WHEN should I do it?

    Thanks in advance

    Ian

    Higher than what?

Restating your question a little, when should you use a subdomain instead of
a site folder and what to watch out for?

Thanks Nancy - that did answer my poorly worded question. I was wanting to
know whether a subdomain name was picked up by search engine spiders as far
as ranking goes. It appears they do and that helps your page rank higher in
    a search.

I am starting a new business that has some diverse threads to it and
subdomains seemed a possible way to handle the different content while
    keeping a base URL.

    Cheers

Ian it looks like Nancy never got back to you on this thread. Overall subdomains are looked on by Google as their own entities. It is best for you to create / folders off of your main domain in order for Google to be able to tell that you have something unique to offer a user. I would not concentrate on subdomains unless the site itself you are planning on is going to be massive. If you did create the site and had to re-direct the links gained from the subdomains to / pages later it could be very complicated. I hope this helps.

That might be because this thread is 3 years old

subdomains can be handled easily by creating a separate site project in Fusion and linking between them using absolute URLs.

As far as SE ranking, this gotFusion tutorial will give you all of the info you need to get ranked on the first page

Not sure man...but I did use SEO.com services to rank my website https://newswirenext.com/ higher on search results.
