Unhappy 32 bit JAVA oh no

    Hi all,

    Nice to see you!
Unfortunately, I uninstalled Java from my PC because of course Java "isn't really used" anymore. Ok. Until you use NetObjects. Good grief, I never even thought of that... UGH.
Sooooo, now I must install that older version of Java (32 bit) and it looks so complicated to me. I realize it's not considered 'safe' but I also realize my browsers won't function with 64bit (and NOF either).

Any suggestions?? I would appreciate it!
    Thanks,
    ~Kitty

I don't know if this would do anything... searched (Windows 7) for "Java" and came up with a zillion different Jave items. I'm not sure which one I should be looking for?? Thinking that I only "uninstalled" and maybe one of the earlier downloads is still somewhere in my PC? IF that would work, what am I looking for?? Sound logical?

You can find downloads for both 32 and 64 bit Java here. Install both if you have to - I have 32 bit installed to work with NOF and 64 bit to work with any browser that needs it... on 64 bit Windows 10
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/ja...s-2133155.html

    Both downloads are 60+mb

I can't find a download link for Windows 32 bit? Did I miss something? bummer.

I looked around their site and I see a page about an older version, but that's the page that is telling me what I would have to do and I have NO idea what they're talking about...

I just don't know what to do with it, sorry. I'll have to Google some more - can't figure it out what I'm supposed to do with it. I downloaded it via Windows Explorer (so I read that I should?). Then don't I have to download Java AND the Runtime? See, don't know what I'm doing. Downloaded Java and was told to rename something? A "CLASS?" ugh. Thanks for helping me Ken, but I'm not very smart about it.
    Thanks again!

This is what you need to load on to your computer: jre-8u151-windows-i586.exe from this page: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/ja...s-2133155.html

    i586 (Intel talk) = x86 (Microsoft talk) = 32 bit

If you want the 64 bit run time also, down load: jre-8u151-windows-x64.exe To use any 64 bit software your computer must have the 64 bit version of windows on it. But 32 bit software will generally run on 64 bit windows. (or 32 bit windows)

Since Microsoft and Oracle really don't like each other, Microsoft likes to make it confusing to load Oracle software by putting up screens asking you about 10 times if you really want to load the software. Just keep answering yes till you are done.

A far more detailed answer than I bothered to type
