Default NetObjects Fusion 15 "Publish Site" execution runs much slower than previous versions

NetObjects Fusion 15 "Publish Site" runs very slow -- takes over an hour to run.

Previous versions (e.g., 11, 13) on other laptops runs much faster.

NetObjects 15 "Publish Site" runs much faster on another laptop.

What could be source of this sluggishness.

    I have the latest JRE 1.8 32bit.

Is there a "config file" for me to examine and edit.

Also, the laptop is 4K (3820x2160) with 200% scaling. Could this be the reason?

do you have 1000s of pages?

which antivirus scanner? are all Nof folders excluded

Nof15 was built for Win7, it was not designed to scale for 4k mons in Win10, there could be issues with that

when you had Nof13, did you have the same OS with 4k mon and 200% scaling?

how long does it take to do a local publish?

Probably hit the nail on the head there....
How many pages are there in the site?
Have you deleted unused assets / optimized?
I presume your laptop is 32 bit?

My laptop only has 4k memory and is fine publishing, although I use 1366 x 768 and normal scaling.
I wouldn't have thought that would be the reason (as it's only a FTP) but try reducing these.

The websites that I edit range from 20+ pages to 200+ pages. The smaller contain a number of images. The larger has one image used in its banner, and otherwise is text with 10,000+s of hyperlinks.

    I have two DELL Precision's:

The M6500 has an I7, 32GB ram, 1.5TB of SSDs, and 1920x1200 resolution.
The DELL 7720, the "really slow" machine has a Zeon, 64GB ram, 3.5TB of NVMe SSDs, and 4K resolution (set for 200% scaling).

NetObjects clearly does NOT like the 200% scaling. Menus, etc. are barely readable.

    Both are running Win10Pro-x64.

The M6500 is "somewhat" slow (approx. 10-15 minutes to publish local website, but the 7710 takes over an hour. Previous machines with less capacity could publish in 5-10 minutes.

I hate the thought of not being able to use my newest DELL 7720 laptop with NetObjects.

maybe that's the problem. external links? the links are managed in a database which might not be able to handle this size in your new environment, and as far as I know, NOF tries to verify them on a certain scheme or given a certain trigger (like publishing?). please the pro's here correct me if I'm wrong. but I have sometimes problems with a NOF 13 project with many external links. anyways, you can verify them by yourself.

do you use Webfonts? I got rid of them all.

True, many of the external links are quite old (10+years) -- historical.
Some of the sites may have changed or even shutdown.
I typically am editing only a small set of these, or adding new URLs.
I thought that publishing the Entire Site with the option "Publish changed assets only" checked was supposed to reduce the amount of reprocessing that needed to be done.
This used to run much faster in earlier versions.

Is there a better publishing strategy (settings, etc.) that I should be using for this type of website?

I have also considered breaking up this website into several top-level sites, but would then have to cross-reference them in a modified ToC.

I'm open to trying different strategies.

Publish View > Assets > Links > Assets > Verify all links

check the ones that are "not found". it will take a lot of time an be a lot of work. and I really don't know if it will help you with your problem. necessary housekeeping anyways.

also, if the links are 10 years old and elder, I guess that your site/s were build with very old versions of NOF in the first place. dragging them from one NOF release to the next over and over will result into big problems, in my experience.

I started this particular website with NOF 5 in 2001, maybe 10+ pages in size.

I have NOF as an icon on my desktop.
I saw the option in "Properties" to run in Win 7 compatibility mode.
Are there any other options I also should use.

I will test "publishing" speed again when I'm at home,
and do not have to worry about how long my laptop runs.
