    Default Installation Free version

    Hallo

I have the same problem, no serial number, registered with two
different email addresses and still no number when downloading,
and no number in the email after download, am beginning to think
this is a scam to get email addresses.
Am going to contact the hosting provider for this company and inform them
of this crookery, they just ignore you when you contact them.

It's not a email gathering scam. It's a lack of attention to adding more serial numbers to the registration/activation database.

NetObjects isn't paying a lot of attention to Fusion these days and should remove Essentials from their web site if they aren't going to supply serial numbers.

Thanks for posting, I shall look elsewhere for an application, no point in trying this one.

I think NOF finally realized that giving away Essentials was a bad idea since a lot of users of Essentials never bought the paid version since Essentials is very good stand alone software that went way beyond trial software.

I think millions of Essentials users over a decade or two helped ruin NOF. It took money away from NOF to develop new versions of Fusion. Too many people like free software and refuse to buy any software if they can find free stuff even if some of the free products don't work all that well. Free is all that counts for some people.

Eventually, free software comes back to bite free software users. When paid software goes away so does any new versions of the free software. I have talked with many mostly smaller software company owners that admitted that free software they gave away and other companies doing the same ruined their business. Free software didn't work like they thought it would.

It's too bad NOF may have learned this lesson too late if they learned it at all. At this point they may just not care any more if any body wants to buy Fusion now. They have Koken to grow into a thriving business product. NOF seems to have given up on Fusion as a viable product. Too bad. If you don't need responsive software, Fusion still works well.

I don't know if NOF disabled the Essentials download machine or it just quit working but they should turn it off permanently and let those who want Fusion to just buy it and NOF can reap whatever revenue is left to get. I think most of those who want to download it already know what Fusion does and they don't need trial Fusion.

By the way, I have been using WYSIWYG web builder responsive software for awhile and it looks and works similar to NOF but it's not identical. It almost looks like NOF made the stuff as a replacement for Fusion. It's a html generator with no html programming required. I really like the stuff but I still use Fusion too.

WYSIWYG is $50 for version 14 and subsequent next versions are always 1/2 off if you are already a customer. They have excellent documentation, tutorials, and videos. I have been playing with it since version 10.
