Thread: Javascript prob w/ IE

    Default Javascript prob w/ IE

I just published a page with an NOF javascript menu and got
an IE "active content" warning, and the menu was disabled.
I've got the IE security setting at medium which is
certainly the least any visitor should have. (No problems
    with Firefox.)

This is a bit of a disaster. Am I going to have to go with
pure CSS menuing (arrgh something new to get my head around)
    or am I missing something.

    TIA...

The warning you see is only there when you view the page locally. Visitors
to the site on the web won't get the security warning.

If you don't want to see it locally, you need to go into your Internet
Options and check the two settings allowing active content on your local
    computer.

Chuck, since you seem much more competent than the Netobject's support (and
I know your name for many years now), I ask you regarding my problem. (not
getting any feedback from NOF support.

It's also a javascript problem, therefore I attach it to this subject and I
already have this subject as a stand-alone request in this group.

    I copy my post here:
    _____
    I have a strange problem with a pull-down menu.

On one page it works just fine, on the other the same menu (only with
another language) does not work and gives me a javascript error!

Could you please check and help me?!

    Here is the problem page:

    http://sardiniatravel.net/docs/calarosa_listino.html

There are TWO pull-down menues, one on the top right that says "Scegliere
località" and another on the left below the nav-bar that says: "Vai a...".

    Both do NOT work!!

But I have the same menues at the German page at:

    http://sardiniatravel.net/docs/calarosa_listino_d.html

    and they work just fine!

    WHERE is my error??

I cannot find any error not even inside the code.

    thanks,

    marc

    Marc,

I see no difference between the two menu sets. Both work the same for me in
    IE7.

    really??

for me, in IE6 they do NOT work!! only on the german page, but not on the
Italian. It gives me a javascript error, saying that it expected an object
    in line 260, first position!!

    strange...

I don't know. It works for me.

Perhaps it's the encoding set in your browser.

The site is set to ISO-8859-1.

You may be using an encoding that can't product the character set properly.

it works now!! Problem was that I have just copied the drop-down menu to the
italian pages and there was NO javascript stuff in the HEAD. I have checked
    both pages and noticed that.

So, I have copied the javascript notation to the HEAD.

    thanks,
