Default Limitation on Page Name Length

    Hi, all...

I've noticed that once my page names pass about 23 characters in lenth
that NOF cuts off the name upon publishing.

Is there some way to change this limit?

    Thanks,

    Rick

Web standards restrict page names to 255 characters. Less is better for
search engine robots. Be descriptive with your page names but don't go
crazy. 2 or 3 short words after your domain name should be plenty.

Hi, Nancy, and thanks for the reply...

The problem isn't actually with the length of the URL,
but, rather, with the page names themselves.

For instance, I just created a page that I named,
    "neighborhood_intro_update_confirm.cfm".

That page name would be part of this URL:

    http://sitemanager.xxxxxxxxxxxxx.com...te_confirm.cfm

which only has 60 or so characters, well under the 255 limit.

However, when I publish the page to my server, it publishes as,
"neighborhood_intro_update_conf.cfm" "Confirm" as cut off to "conf".

I've aways worked around this limitation (since version 3), and never
    bothered
to ask about it. However, as you can tell from my URL's above, I'm a
    ColdFusion
programmer and at times, I need longer page names.

There must be some built-in mechanism in NOF that limits page name length.

    What do you think?

Default Page Name Length problem also

I am having the same problem....has anyone come up with an answer:
    my page name: myrtle_beach_golf_course_reviews.html
    publishes as
    myrtle_beach_golf_courses_revie.html

    Big problem.

Thanks for any help anyone can give here.

I think this problem would arise with all web site designs. Surely if you
have defined the website - presumably as Myrtle Beach Golf Course, you don't
    need this in the reviews.
