    OK...I missed your update and added the same thing. I hate vista...I only
    have it on my laptop since it came that way and I figured it would be good
    to learn since the pc Gods at MS are shoving it down the publics throat. XP
    is so much more stable...coming from NT it was tried and proven. Why fix
    what is not broke!

    Default Re: Installation problems resulting in styles problems???

    I re-installed and told the installer to put all the "other" stuff into the
    same folder where the program is installed...just like they did with nof 10.
    It still builds a folder under my documents where it places a system folder
    and the user sites. That is different than nof 10.
    They problem with the styles is still the same in that it takes forever to
    switch between styles. I checked a few of the classic styles and it also
    did the same thing in not fully adding all the files like it has in nof 10.
    I guess the thing to do is play with the styles in nof 10 and see the one I
    want and then go to nof 11 and select it...not try to flip to other styles.
    I do not understand why it is only partially building the sytles in 11.
    Maybe the XML file is messed up??? I looked at it and it looks right.
    ?????

    I looked at the xml styles file again and it looks like it is still trying
    to use the shared files and there are none right now.
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <nof:stylesources version="1"
    xmlns:nof="http://www.netobjects.com/fusion/styles">
    <nof:stylesource class="active" name="Active SiteStyles" active="yes" />
    <nof:stylesource class="local" name="Fusion 10 SiteStyles"
    path="${shared}\Fusion10SiteStyles" />
    <nof:stylesource class="local" name="Fusion 9 SiteStyles"
    path="${shared}\Styles" />
    <nof:stylesource class="local" name="Classic SiteStyles"
    path="${shared}\Classic Styles" />
    <nof:stylesource class="local" name="CSS Lib" path="${shared}\CSSLib" />
    <nof:stylesource class="online" name="NetObjects Fusion Online SiteStyles"
    url="http://netobjects.com/nof/styles/OnlineStyles/OnlineStyles75.xml" />
    <nof:stylesource class="online" iscustom="yes" name="SiteStyles Volume 1 -

    </nof:stylesources>

    Interesting.

    Default Re: Installation problems resulting in styles problems???

    I noticed that if there is a change to the xml file under nof 11 folder it
    changes the folder under my documents.
    I guess installing like nof 10 is not the answer. I would think if there
    was that big a difference between vista and xp or any other os they would
    have had that selection asked during install.
    Will give it one more try using strictly the defaults and cleaning out all
    folders and files.

    Ran the installation after a clean re-boot and making sure everything was
    quiet. Same problem...tried importing styles from other areas and the same
    problem....THEN I looked at my Processes under task manager and see that
    almost half of the processor is dealing with the Lsass.exe which is windows
    security.
    So with that being found is there a setting to tell it that Fusion 11 is OK
    ? I have never had this problem before and it sure doesn't do this with nof
    10.

    Please let me know....this is not vista but xp pro

    Lsass.exe is used for logon and some security stuff, however, it may
    also be evidence of a virus on your system

    http://ask-leo.com/what_are_lsass_ls...o_if_i_am.html

    There is also many more references of it being virus activity.

    I have never experienced this and have never heard of it in the groups.

    I would say that it is something specific to your system.

    Gary

    Not sure how useful this comment will be, but...

    I had a problem on a work laptop a while ago which gave me a similar
    problem (lsass absorbing at least half the CPU). My tech guy eventually
    tracked it down as a partially uninstalled service (VPN related) which
    was effectively running around in little circles. This had a knock-on
    effect for some other progams on the system. The real pain was that the
    uninstaller had gone (not in Add/Remove under control panel), but an
    attempt to reinstall (to deinstall) the code failed because it thought
    there was a partial install under way. I love Windows %-)

    I think the final get out was to identify the service, bring Win up in
    safe mode to allow the service to be set as disabled, reboot the machine
    and then go edit the registry. Next step would have been a reinstall of
    Windows (XP Pro w/SP2 by the way).

    After all that ramble, I think the point I was trying to make is that
    it's probably something in your system, as per Gary's comment, rather
    than NOF per se.

    HTH,

    Derek.
