Word Document
Hi guys
I have a link on a page to a word document.
When the link is clicked the document does not open but just opens a folder
with sub components, effectively a zip file.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Word Document
An update - apparently it is because the document was saved as a macro and not a word document.
Off topic but on topic (just) - the link is http://www.cyfl.org.uk/html/club_forms.html and the form is LEAGUE MATCH RESULT.
What we are trying to achieve is to have the tick boxes so that they can be ticked with a click in the right area, but we are failing. Any ideas anyone.

Re: Word Document
Over the years, I've been burned too many times by macro viruses in MS
Office docs. So I make it a practice to never open them.
If this were my project, I would convert to PDF forms, put all the PDF files
into a single folder and zip it. One download with all the required forms
makes more sense to me. But I could be wrong.

Re: Word Document
Thanks Nancy.
What we are trying to do is to be able to open the word document, save it,
the use it as a template and email it. Every week, about 300 teams.
If they save as PDF they wont be able to complete on line will they? Unless
of course you have a way around this.
Unfortunately a lot of these people won't even know what Adobe is!!

Re: Word Document
Hi Geoff
You can adapt .pdf files so that they can be completed on line, but you need
to have a ciopy of Adobe Acrobat, and in particular the Live Cycle Form
designer. You can then enter any fields or text bows that you need and set
it to become an active form. I have adapted your Word document quickly in
this way so you can see what can be done.
Hope this is of help.

Re: Word Document
Thanks guys. I knew about the various conversion options in general but have not worked with these before.
Very much appreciated, especially as this is generally outside of the forum issues.

Geoff, your Word document does not appear to be a "form". The tick boxes
are simply graphics rather than "click to tick".
Also, the heading seems misspelt, or at least mis-rendered. Below is a
copy/paste of the doc heading.
CHELMSFPRD YOIYH FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Finally, Rugby Union is the game played in heaven. Therefore soccer is
played you-know-where. I observe that the typical score-line of a soccer
match generally reflects the IQ level of its supporters ...... Nil-All
Joking of course! <grin>
(Carna Wallabies!)

Re: Word Document
Thanks. The document is not mine - I had noted the mis-spelling but that was the least of my worries.
Soccer is played in America so as to not confuse everyone because the Americans play football with a different sized ball, which means that they are really playing rugby.
The usual distinction is that "Rugby is a game for thugs played by gentlemen and football is a game for gentlemen played by thugs".
And I couldn't possibly comment on the IQ of soccer players as my leaning is towards football - see www.contrastjfc.org.uk which is my own club for youngsters.
