Can not find "http"
I recently made some changes to my site including a button, when clicked, would take the user to a product on Amazon.
When I try to publish the site, I am getting the "Can not find the http" error message. What is causing this? I have created
an external link to go directly to the product. Would this create the problem if the link was incorrect?

your link is starting with //http
that is wrong, it must start with www.
the http will automatically adds as per the dropdown, where you can choose http or https (you set the dropdown to http as seen in your screenshot)
I would assume amazon would require https

Anton was right - you need to have the "S" after http. Amazon runs on Secure servers

This is what Amazon sent to me - It works on the web site with local testing. Do I need to add another server? I am not a whiz at this stuff.
