Problem with Html Text editor

Hi. Having issues with the Html text editor. when I in a table select Control-T to insert html, the text editor fails to open and freezes the program. The only way I can resolve is by uninstall and reloading. A bit of back ground, a week or so ago i did rebuild my laptop as the hard drive failed. any help on how to resolve would be great.
