Actually I would hate the idea of NOF only following the system setting.
What you want for your website may not be what is good for your own PC
    (As is my case).
What I want is an option to anti-alias particular components, such as
the primary navigation buttons, not to be forced to change the settings
of my whole PC just to get NOF to render correctly!

I got this result once, in a banner, that had the background set as
transparent. When NOF rendered the text and overlayed it on the banner, it
    all went edgy.

    Just my 2c.

But does anyone have a clue as to why some peoples NOF anti-aliases the
text while mine doesn't, *ever*. There must be a setting somewhere
    controlling this!

    Hey John
Just to get a refresher on what you did and what has happened, could you
provide a little step-by-step on what you did and how you made your buttons
and such with the text to where we see the jaggy's?
I am curious because I wanna help you and also, help me because I have that
problem on my www.RMBama.com on that top 3 link text navigation on the top
of my pages after the INTRO page that has the text fuzzy.

Not by me (well, at least at first glance ) : I have enough with "selected
    pages" .
I prefer development team to concentrate on other improvements ;-)

Following this discussion, I second JohnW : I have the exact same behaviours
for years ... (and numerous NOF version)
Look at this : http://lessentiel.bien-etre.com/ pure NOF generated banners

Me too. That's exactly what the Out of Embers banner looks like. Not
    sure about the L'institut banner.

Ok, this is the result of the latest experiments.

Selecting 'Cleartype' as your font smoothing method does not make NOF
    render anti-aliased fonts.

Selecting 'Standard' *does* make NOF render anti-aliased fonts.

Now the (even more) weird bit.

Set the font smoothing back to 'off'
    Re-publish the page.
You will find that although the 'jaggies' are back in the NOF editing
window, the fonts are still anti-aliased on the web page (and yes, I
    cleared the cache).

The only way for me to get the web page back to 'jaggies' was to
manually delete the banner graphic from the server before re-publishing.

    Very odd!

My feature request is definitely to have font aliasing selectable for
navbars and banners from *within* NOF. Xara Webstyle can anti-alias
fonts independantley of the system setting (although you can't turn it
off!) so I don't see why NOF can't.
