Secret of image alignment

I put a image on the layout region, center it by using object - align to
horizontal center. It looks fine until the page is viewed or published.
Then the images are off center.
The fact I have to write in to find out how this is done scares the hell
out of me.

you may need to center the page in order to get everything in center

look for "center in browser" on layout property palette

And you may need to place an empty "placeholder" object along the right
edge of your Layout Area... like maybe an empty text box or an empty
table or layout area.

Thanks, but I created a new home page, moved it to precede the old home
page, deleted the old home page and pasted everything in the new home
page. That fixed it. Why? God only knows.
