Applying text style to one object ONLY
Hi All,
I have been struggling with this for some times now and wonder if
someone found out how to do this:
I simply want to apply a text style to one object only: a text
navbar/crumb bread trail.
Since it has links there are of course a few parameters to set right.
The problem I face is that there is no way to apply the new style to
only the targeted object, it applies to all text object on the page
(with a page defined scope).
It is possible to set styles with graphical navbars or banners BUT not
with text objects unless there is a secret someone would like to share here.
Regards,

I have been waiting to see if you got an answer - I have submitted this
same question 3 times and got no answer.

I don't know what you've tried so far but you should be able to create a
custom style in your CSS. Then highlight the text on your page and apply
the custom style. Do a local publish to see it.

I had an error in my paragraph:
"It is possible to set CUSTOM styles with graphical navbars or banners
BUT not POSSIBLE with text objects (such as text navbar, breadcrumb
trail) unless there is a secret someone would like to share here."
I tried everything for hours and I have been using NOF for 10 years so I
know most workarounds.
When I define a style for text navigation bar, it will apply to all
links on a page, which is bad as the graphic grid I am constrained to
use sets a background color to the navbar requiring white links.
So when I apply it, all regular links on the page becomes invisible.
This is very bad of course.

Are you using classes for your links?
If not, then try going to Text | Manage Styles and creating
the custom styles for a class. My class 2 styles are called:
...Two:hover
...Two:linked (.Two:link)
...Two:visited
(The dot at the beginning of each name is automatically
inserted by NOF to denote a custom style.) Make sure you
define the styles as Site-wide. For each style, everything
is automatic except the color.
When you create a text link using these styles, click the
HTML button, then click the Inside Link tab, and type:
class="two"
I haven't tried creating a text navbar, so I don't know how
classes work in that context. What you might need to do is
use the standard (no class) link formatting for the navbar
and classes for all other links in your site.
HTH,
Allison
