Default OT: Best Practices in setting up new Vista system

I know there was a thread, probably a pretty long time ago now, about
sequence of installing applications. I can't find it...I tried. So in
anticipation of the delivery of my new system I'm open to any advice. It'll
come with Office Basic. I don't plan to install older version of NOF, just
10, as my old system will be easily accessible for old jobs I haven't
migrated. I'll also be installing CS3 Designer. I just posted in the Adobe
type group asking about fonts and how Vista manages them.

As always your wisdom is great appreciated.
    Sheila

Wisdom? Yes - wait on Vista. Just kidding...or not. I wish you well,
I know some have to change now for various reasons.

Good news...my new system arrived and so far, thanks to everyone's shared
wisdom, I've successfully installed NOF10 as well cas CS3 and Office. I
haven't downloaded the updates yet but it opened fine. Can I just download
the latest update? I'm assuming so as it says they're cummulative.

    Thanks!
    Sheila

I know it's important to move all my users folders over to the same path on
the new system but I have them on a D drive and my new system doesn't have a
    D. Do I need to create a partition just so they match or import each one
from a template as I need it? What's the safest way to move forward to get
all my sites onto the new system?

    Thanks!
    Sheila

Template. Verify & delete unused assets, links, etc...
    to ensure clean migration.
