Default OT: Safari browser on PC

Apple has released their Safari web browser for the PC. Windows XP and Vista
    OS.

I just downloaded and installed on Vista Ultimate.

No issues *yet* and very fast.

Because what everyone needs is another browser...

I'm reporting it, not promoting it. It's just another browser to check your
    site designs in. (-;

Apple is using it as viral marketing to introduce PC users to the Mac
    platform.

Will be interesting to see how much market share they develop.

I got it & all my NOF sites seem fine - although some text is bolder - but
sizing/spacing does not seem affected. My asp sites (developed with a
completely different tool) seem fine too.

Another advantage to getting it that I see is that now we don't have to
borrow a friend's Apple to test! Assuming the PC Safari is similar to the
    Apple version, of course....;-)

    Thanks for posting this Chuck!

I downloaded it yesterday, and seems ok, but the flash plugin I have for IE
    doesnt work properly on it.
As to text etc, in this browser you can change it around to different fonts
and sizes - unlike IE which is very limited. which is a good thing for
    people who are visually impaired

That's a big assumption! I would think that Safari on a MAC would look
different than on a PC. Anyone have a MAC so they can compare? If you're
correct, it would be a major advantage.

    Sheila,

I haven't studied it in depth, but it looks just like it does on the last
    Mac I saw.

I'll ask someone I know with Macs on OS X and PCs running XP to check it out
    and see what they think.

Just testing my webpage on SAFARI (looks Ok). The banner is not showing up
(Top) + my floating navigation on the right is not showing perfect.

    Micah,
You can Edit > Preferences to suit your particular tastes. I like the
streamlined appearance. Really glad I can stop bugging my Mac friends now.
Safari XP looks like it's rendering pages the same as Mac.
