So here's your chance to get even for my "constructive comments" on your
    websites a few months ago.
The Major Revision is live. Check it out. Whaddya think?

I like it. Sure has a bunch of info! Also sounds like a great area

1 biggish thing: In Firefox, the center text of the home page ends with:

"Enjoy your visit to Pender Harbour Dot Org, and please let us know what we
can do to improve it for you. Use the"

In IE (or the IE tab of FF), it shows the whole paragraph + the links at the
    bottom.

    4 little things:

    1) A map for those geographically challenged folks south of your border
(huh? There's something other than caribou north of the 48th parallel?). I
figured it was somewhere between Vancouver & Alaska, but I had to really
search to find a map of the area. Google Maps was truly helpful (see
attached) <g>. Of course, maybe you don't want people who don't know where
    you are to find out!

    2) The links on the left are all serif, whereas the rest of the site is sans
serif. I figure it was to differentiate 'em, but I'm one of those picky
    PITA's that notice such things.

    3) (Remember I said I was a picky pita) - on the home page, the text to the
right of the links seems kinda crowded next to the links. I usually move
the text to the right about 3 taps of the right arrow to prevent that.

    4) To further prove it: "Liberate Yourself" under "Trapped in a Frame" is
one space to the right of all the other links. I like the concept though!

    You asked!

I did, and that's exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for, the pickier
    the better. Thank you.
Damb, I don't know how to get around Firefox tho. The Fixed Layout allows me
to use the animated BC flag on the banner, and I'm unrealistically attached
to that. But Firefox has an IE tab? I didn't know this. Hopefully ppl will
use it if they want to tell me where to go-- I mean, tell me what to do to
    improve the site.
    1. Re: map. I am cartographically challenged. Have another look at the
Visitors Guide, go to Getting Here, then Offsite Links. You'll find a
variety of links to map websites with the area keyed in. Even Google Earth.
Yeah! Google Earth did Pender Harbour! Way cool.
    2. Fonts. Yeh, it's deliberate. I wanted a contrast, wanted to make the Uber
Links appear to be a nother animal altogether.
    3. Ya know, I wasn't sure about this all along. Is it too close? Is it okay?
Yes? No? Til I got to the point where I couldn't step back from it to
decide. Thank you, I will scoot it over a bit.
    4. You really *are* nitpicky! Well, I guess you warned me. Actually, I was
aware of this and have no idea how to get the formatting to work here. I
gave up, deciding to live with it. Not liking it, but living with it.

Thanks again, Garret. I really appreciate the time you took, both to look at
the site and to post your impression of it. If you ever make it up to Pender
Harbour, I'll buy you a thank-you drink at the pub! And anyone else from
fusion10 who makes it up this way.

Not centered in firefox - way over to the left. Not enough padding in
your columns - text goes right to edge. Other than that - very nice.
Now send $15 for my consultation.

    Hi Again -

Dynamic Layout & animated gif's - I think they do work in dynamic - at least
    I've seen posts claiming so...

A FF cutting off the bottom part thought -

Try adding a blank line (with a space or 2 in it) below the links. I've had
some luck with that. The space(s) on the blank line are key!

The space before "Liberate yourself": The code is:

    >Trapped in a Frame?</span></b><br>&nbsp;<A
    >HREF="http://www.penderharbour.org/" target="_top"> Liberate yourself!</A>
    ></p>

Notice the non-breaking space after the "<br>"? I bet that's it. Now, how
to find it in NOF is a whole separate thing....

They will, but you cannot layer objects, animated or otherwise. In this
case, the flag sits on top of the banner image.

I had another look at what I inserted,
    <A HREF="http://www.penderharbour.org/"target="_top"> Liberate yourself!</A>
See that space before "Liberate?" Never noticed it before. Removed it. Aha,
    it worked!

    Thanks, Garret!

Thanks, RW, but it appears that you plagarized Garret's consultation report
and, because of this, my boss refuses to authorize payment of your claim.
Yes, I know I'm my boss, but it sounded better. Anyway, you did say "very
nice" so I give you my standard Thank-You offer... I'll buy you a drink if
you ever find yourself in Pender Harbour.

Yeah, usually best not to do business while Under the Influence... you
should have asked for at least $40.
Seriously, I hope you're not having serious health problems.
Best of luck, and feel free to take a swipe at my site when you're feeling
better. Don't worry about hurting my feelings; I asked for honest feedback,
not flowery praise. I respect the opinions of ppl in this group, and I'd
rather be told here that I could improve something than embarass myself in
front of the whole wide world because someone thought I was all
    hypersensitive and fragile.

I like the site but I have one comment... and it's something that your
site has in common with many other travel destination sites I've seen.
Upon first viewing the home page, there is no clear indication as to
where Pender Harbour is. I mean, I don't even know what hemisphere it's
in, let alone what country. Most of your site visitors, of course,
won't be as geographically challenged as I (and most will probably be
Canadians specifically looking up info about Pender Harbour), but it
wasn't until I clicked on the Site Info page that, at the very bottom, I
saw the word "Canada". One would think you might want mention this on
the home page. And Canada's a big country, so it might be nice to know
where in Canada I might find Pender Harbour. A map could be a fairly
    obvious addition, too.
