    Hi Carl,

Yes, I have done all that. But, not sure how that is going to fix the 90%
    memory issue that I get,
and fellow user Trimdoner is getting 100% memory usage. See his attachement
in other related thread after this one.

And even if it did help fix it... prevention is better than cure and the bug
    needs fixing.

I realy get the feeling that people don't beleif this is a bug and that the
90% to 100% memory issue is somehow normal.

    Regards
    Jeff

You and Trimdoner are the only ones that have that problem.
"I realy get the feeling that people don't beleif this is a bug and that the
90% to 100% memory issue is somehow normal."
We told you what we got, most of us got less than 40% and no change. So it
is not normal, and not really NOF either...

    Hi,

    In summary:

I have a table and its running slow because of a 90% memory usage.
I convert Table to Layout and it free's up memory.

Overview... The only thing I do is convert table to layout and the memory
    gets freed up.

You are telling me this has nothing to do with NetObjects.

    Sorry, I don't think so.

Obscure bug? that's as maybe but this is a NetObject issue.

You say we are the only one's to experience this. Just perhaps others have
been trained in "Learned Helplessness". That is they know they are waisting
time trying to get there messages to the right people.
I have asked several times how to get my message to management and all I get
    is anything but an answer.

Sorry, but look at the length of this thread and the other one I started,
without any consideration for answering that question which I asked on a
couple of occasions. How are the programmers meant to know about issues if
we the users can't get a voice to them. The ability to interact with the
people creating this program can only improve the quality of the product.

I really appreciate everyone trying to help but what I would be really happy
with at the moment is getting this message to management/programmers.

    Just let them know.

"A couple of users have been experiencing massive memory leakage."

    Regards
    Jeff

Micah, this problem has been mentioned many times before.
I can replicate the problem on my other two computers (different hardware
and software setup) using the template I mistakenly posted. Also, though
I've seen the problem before, that site is the only one at present out of 27
    current sites I handle.

And I'll state again for the record- I don't have any speed problems with
NOF10 and never did. Most users didn't, but that didn't stop the problem
appearing for a noticeable number of users.

This is probably a separate little glitch. I've used NOF from version 4
through MX, then heavily through all versions from 7 onwards and this little
effect only seemed to appear in 7.5, though obviously as it's so sporadic it
may just not have raised its head earlier.
Nothing has ever been pasted from Word, Excel or any other program except
    plain unformatted text.

There are probably three reasons why you haven't gotten a
    specific answer to that question.

    a) The obvious answer is that you open a support ticket with
NetObjects. In NOF, you can go to the Support tab that's
visible when you open the app. Or you can click Help |
NetObjects Technical Support and follow the links. Or you
can go directly to the NetObjects website, click 'Support'
in the navbar and follow the links.

Admittedly, people have reported mixed results when
contacting NetObjects Technical Support. However, that is
the avenue for communicating with the developers.

    b) These forums are user-to-user. NetObjects staff turn up
here on occasion, but the forums are not the route to Tech
Support. BTW, when NOF staff do comment on a problem
someone's reporting, they usually say, "open a support ticket".

    c) There are users here who are beta testers, who would, as
a result, possibly have more direct communication with the
developers. If they're beta testing, they're also bound by a
non-disclosure agreement. Generally, that means that they
can't tell anyone else that they're beta testers, so they
certainly won't be speaking up about talking to the
developers. They may have passed on the info concerning your
problem, but they can't tell you that they have.

Yes, there have been speed problems reported with V10. For
most people who have experienced the slowdowns, the patches
have fixed the problem. I know it's painful to be an anomaly
(having been there myself with a variety of apps). Sadly, as
software and computers have become vastly more complex, the
environmental variables have increased concomitantly. That
makes some of these problems -- especially those that affect
a small minority -- especially difficult to resolve.

    Hi Allison,

Thank you so much for your help outlining process for contacting Technical
    support, and your understanding.

I also received a message from John with the following URL:

    details about my issue.

Hopefully we can get this sorted.

    Hi Jeff,

The site template I put on the newsgroup is a site that no longer needs
fixing - the company concerned closed!
I made it available just to reinforce the point that this 'non-existent'
problem does exist, even if only for a small number of users, and then
perhaps only occasionally. As mentioned earlier, it was built in 7.5, and
I've seen the problem occasionally in 9 and 10.
