    Default Publishing errors

    Hi,

I published my site today and over 200 files came back as errors. An
    example:

Error sending the file C:\Program Files\NetObjects\NetObjects Fusion
    10.0\User Sites\adam4\Preview\index.html to the server

I have not added any new sheets, only changed some pricing. I verifed all
my assets and checked with my server for issues. No issues that we know of.
I will not optimize since that has caused many problems in the past.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Barbara

Delete the Preview folder and the Local Publish folder on your hard
drive. Republish. If that fails, there is no reason to fear
re-optimizing if you take the simple precaution of making a back-up copy
    of the NOD file first.

    Hi Laurence and Barbara

I have the exact same problem!

I deleted the Preview folder and I deleted the Local publish files and even
    the Local Publish profile also.

    Then I re-optimized my site.

But I still get "Error sending file" message when publishing?

    Can anyone please help.

    Thank you!

I'm coming into this thread a little late, so I'm not quite sure where
the errors are occurring. Is it when you're doing a local publish, or
are you publishing and uploading in one step using NOF's built-in ftp?

If the latter, have you tried uploading with a third-party ftp program?
You might try that and see if you get the same errors.

You might also try uploading a few files at a time. If one of them is
corrupted, you'll be able to find it more easily that way.

If the nod itself is corrupted, sadly the only thing to do is rebuild.

There are plenty of ftp freebies out there, as well as paid apps. What's
"better" is a personal preference, so google for "free ftp" and poke
around. Plus, other newsgroupies will probably post links to their
preferred apps. (My personal preference is WS-FTP, not
    free.http://www.ipswitch.com/)

    Hi Allison

    It occurs when uploading.

It never occurs when local publishing or preview'ing.

It occurs when uploading a single page or a full site
It occurs when uploading both entire site and "changes only"
The nod is fine. I also tried exporting the nod to a new file and then
    upload. Same problem

I tried an ftp program, but really, with a large site it is easier to manage
    it in Fusion

It happened in Fusion 9. Yesterday I upgraded to Fusion 10 trial, and the
problem is gone. However I had this problem in Fusion 7, 8 and 9 also. It
    keeps coming back!

Then it sounds to me as if something has gotten entered into the nod
database that isn't getting washed out.

If the problem is gone in V10, then it could be that V10 is looking at
the file differently. It could also be that opening it in V10
    restructured something behind the scenes.

If uploading continues to work in V10, then that would be the easiest
way to move on. Otherwise, you might want to try opening a help ticket
with WSP. Some people get results that way. Others don't. But it could
    be worth a try.

    Default Re: Publishing errors

Boy I wish i had the magic bullet on this error.

A number of things are important here, I noticed in nearly all the versions
    that the following is true.

    1) FIREWALL (the biggest culprit or such an error)

I know seems to easy, BUT if you have XP/SP2 or NORTON preinstalled
(version 2002 was a big bad one) these guys can still be wandering around
    blocking ports w/o telling you.

    2) Isolate The Culprit.

TRY uploading to another server like allot of e-mail servers give you a
tiny bit of space to play with.

    3) Out of disk space.

Fusion doesn't always tell you when it ran out of space.

    4) HyperThreading.

Turn it off, and try again. I't took me a while to figure this one
out - although I have a massive site (700 pages) and a 3.2 GHZ machine so
other factors may be contributing to it.

    5) Clean up (seems like you tried this already)
    6) try PASSIVE FTP, other FTPS programs.
    7) Check you ISP for Quotas, Permission levels (Password protected sub
    directorys etc...)

good luck, i hope that helps
