captcha worked - but still allows multiple posts by using back button
I researched and liked the idea of using a captcha page BEFORE even seeing
the form page
ie, after successful using the captcha, user then is automatically sent to
form
BUT
after completing form and being auto sent to a thank-you page
one can hit the back button
and re-submit
I hate to have to re-engineer my captcha concept and embed the captcha INTO
the form page
I am researching checking IP and time of submission - both a little
complex -
but are there other/easy solutions?

Yes. A number of us in these newsgroups use the formm@iler script from db
masters. Php script hides your email address from spambots. The latest
version includes many spam prevention methods in addition to captcha. Free
if you give credit to the site. ($20 to remove credit).

Another popular form solution is this one from CoffeeCup which uses Flash,
PHP and XML
