Default NOF ate my entire site!

    Hello experts,

Well here's one for you that I hope someone can help with. After nearly 100
hours of time into my web site and the entire thing is GONE!

In my NOF v10, I created a 2nd copy (bu) of my site. Then, I went to do an
Optimization. It tried to do it and only spit out an error saying NOF
couldn't do it and to contact support. I have done that and now will have to
sit and wait (waste) time HOPING to hear back from them. In the mean time, I
closed NOF and then re-opened it and tried to open my site... only to find
it GONE. I mean... completely and utterly GONE. There's no nod file, no nft,
no zip, no asset file, even my native image files are GONE. the entire
folder is gone. I don't understand it?? After all that, I went in and tried
to open my 2nd copy (the backup I made). It's there, but now it has images
    missing and everything else.

I'm just broken hearted and could cry (let alone can hear the boss man
yelling because now I will be so far behind on this project).

Anyone out there have ANY ideas of how NOF could just dissipate an entire
    NOF file??

Chewing my nails hoping for some help from you experts out there.

    thanks,
    avi

    avimia,

On the rare occasion I've seen this happen. That's why backups and/or
Template files are so very important. I ususally make a template file of
each and every site before I start editing my sites. I name them by date
    and then site (2008_04_27_mysite, etc).
This way if Fusion eats a site I have something to fall back on. If you
haven't been doing this it might be a good idea. In the meantime take a
look at the "Backup" and "Recovery" folders under your site structure for
the most recent NOD file and try recovering from there.

If you tried to get your site back by opening a file in the backups
folder you would have problems seeing images. To address this you would
need to copy the nod file from the backups folder to the main users
sites folders where the nod file with nothing is located and rename it
to have the name of the old bad nod file (after renaming that one or
    deleting it).

    Hi Avi,

I hope you got this sorted out. This is probably too late to be helpful but
you may care to look through the responses to my message posted on 27/1/08
"Entire Site vanished from NOF 10".

JJ's first response was... "To get that site back, simply open NOF10 and
Open from Remote Template. It will then perform normally.
You will need to know all the details of the FTP upload which hopefully you
    do.
Don't ask me why NOF does it, but it does. This is how I work around the
    problem."

Which should work as he suggests.

    Cheers, Kevin Luck
