Thread: Adding a login component

    Charles,

Thanks for the info. I understand exactly what you are saying. The error
that I posted came from the served page within Wampserver. It did not come
from the local published NOF output. This is why I think that there is an
issue with the login component. Now that I can publish locally to
Wampserver and duplicate my server environment, I can trouble shoot better
than the way that I was previously.

The odd think is, I can open this php script in MS Word and it views just
    find.

I opened a service ticket with NOF, but I have yet to hear from them. My
guess is it'll be a few days, if I even hear from them.

    Thanks.

    Daryl

    Interesting.

I must be used to seeing it differently because the last time I debugged
any PHP code it was from a remote Unix server (thus my comments).

You could be right on that.

    I know what you mean.

Like so many debug errors (in different languages and platforms) when the
actual error was a line above the reported one, it can drive you nuts!

    :-)

    Just wanted to be sure.

That is one of those things that can drive you crazy if your not aware of
    it<g>.

FWIW, never save a script from Word - it would add all sorts of crap to the
    document

Your best bet is get a copy of NotePad++ (free) or some other PHP capable
    editor.

Word could easily trash a script (or any other non-Word file).

Let us know how it goes.

    Take care,

I normally use VI or VIM on my windows machine. I just happened to right
click on the .php script and opened it with Word, just because I could, :-)
That is how I learned that it would run in Word. I just found it
    interesting, thats all.

I don't have much hope that I'm going to hear back from them. Its been my
experience that after a persons buys an app from a company, they tend to
forget that you're the customer and blow off any support. I bought EZround
a couple of years ago, and when I had a question on how to use it, I posted
the question here instead of opening a service ticket. Your reply was:
"open a service ticket". Your customer service is far superior to theirs.

Would anyone know of an Open source login solution? I did a search of this
list and found a few others who have had issues with the login component.
Nancy O. suggested a couple of solutions, but they cost and the organization
that I'm building this site for can't afford any extra costs. If I can't
get this login component to work, then I need to find another solution, and
I hope to be able to find a open source solution. I did a search on
    sourceforge.net but couldn't find anything.
Would anyone here have any suggestions?

    Thanks.

    Daryl
